Story is that I tore out the interior of my 80 series, chopped the top, now convertible with tube doors.

Now, trying to add back stuff like speakers and interior lights.

Looking for some LED interior lights for general overhead interior lighting that I will switch somehow on and off.

Trick is that I don't want too much light, but don't want wimpy lights either.

I am leaning toward these about halfway down the page.....

great idea.

I just fitted 13w fluro internal lamp with added door switch function, it's bright , personal preference, I prefer more light than not enough,

LED that lights up foot well area and cargo area

Overhead is fine but, they do not always reach areas in the footwell area well. Remember jumping into a car in the 80s, that had footwell lights that shine from under the glove box and over foot pedals.I thought that was the coolest idea. Is there a setup that can interface with the head light switch or, is seperate? Ohh it would be REALLY nice, if the lights are LED last a long time on batteries, and can be remote turned on and off, without all the wiring headaches.

If you know anyone that has a setup like that, let us know.

Would these fit a 80's? on the doors?

Yes they do, however now I think I blew the main fuse to all my interior lights, does any body know where the fuse is located under the hood fuse box?

LED interiors

I ended up getting the kit from PFran.

I is like a whole new world at night in the cruiser, no more flashlight to look about.

Bumping this old thread. All my door courtesy lights I got from pfranleds (gone now) are flashy and broke. (80 series) The dome lights are flat arrays of white leds. I think they're probably ok, but the connectors are flaky AF.

Any vendors better than superbrightleds? They seem to have everything I need. Plus whatever color or color temp you want.

Edit: Answering my own question with a search:

The folks at Odd Iron can probably help you. 😊

My 2 cents . . .
I replaced mine with SuperBrightLEDs last year and am looking for a replacement.
Not bright enough.

Not bright enough.

They have multiple offerings on there for each variant. The pfran LEDs were surely bright enough, but the ones, especially, in the doors have all developed flickering. They suck. The dome panels are more than bright enough. The map light we call the "stadium light".

Check out the “Small Business Storefront” in ‘MUD’s classified section.

Same price as Amazon too. Ordered 4 for my doors. Will report back, but seems like just what I need!

Old Iron Off Road Lighting - 194 HP3 I ordered for the 80-series (and others) doors. @SmoothLC, the 194 HP5 are brighter if that's what you want instead.

Thanks for the tip Eddy! The door replacements I got from SBLEDs are ok, but I need the middle and rear dome lights. The ones I have from SBLEDs just aren't cutting it. I do have red LEDs up front and they seem to work well.

The panels I got from PFran long ago are hanging in there, but you can get something similar, or better, here:

@Gun Runner 5, an 80-series has one map light and two cargo lights. That combo would make a nice order SKU. hint, hint
