I'd be taking the lumens claims with a grain of salt. I assume just like the cheap Chinese flashlights, the lumen claims are grossly exaggerated. Grossly exaggerated.
Yeh 60w per set is 30w per bulb. If they are 60w each then can produce 8000 lumen each which is blinding if used as a low beam. Even as a High beam 8000lm is a lot. You have a link to the details on the set you got? Something isn't right
Mine should be here today so I'll replace just one bulb and see the difference. I'll try one of the Lumen apps too but I'm guessing they are about as accurate as the Chinese sellers claims.
Well they're bright. The app was screwy as I figured. It was reading 40000+ lux at 3 ft. I don't know what correct standard distance is. I thought it was only at one foot but I may be thinking SPL for sensitivity. None of the top 10 apps displayed as lumens even when it was on the name of the app. All displayed lux.
Just high. I was worried about too much glare with LED low beam. I may go ahead and get them though because the LED high beam seems just as tight as the halogen.

I was thinking glare for oncoming traffic. The H1 LED is lined up perfectly with the center of the H1 halogen. If it is made the same way in the H4 there shouldn't be any glare and the beam pattern should resemble the halogen.
Mine arrived today - the original, self contained Ebay types. Will install and report.
Also in the market for a nice set of highs if people are happy with anything, i.e. the VLEDS above - would be willing to pay more for quality LED highs in lieu of mounting more lights on the truck.
Just finished installing (3) of the 4500lm bulbs in my LX. I put before and after pics in my build thread, pg. 64. If anyone is thinking about going that route.
At 25' the top of the beam should be 2-3" lower than the top of the beam at the headlight itself. Just make sure they are pointed DOWN, and as long as they don't scatter the light too bad you will probably be OK. If the light is too scattered to even see the top of the beam, then the lights are a nuisance on the road.
I was basing that comment off the lumens that they put off. I was thinking for low beams you wouldn't want more than 2,500 lumens per bulb. Sound right?
Secondly, the socket is the same for the 9005 and 9006 right? It's just the designation between high beam and low beam... that's what i'm guessing?
