Hello all,

My wife's 2008 200 series leans slightly to the left/driver's side all the time... I haven't measured the difference yet, but I can.

Is this normal and is there a corrective plan for the problem or a TSB?

Is this possibly a KDSS issue?

It has been like this since we bought the SUV used about 6,000 miles ago. It has 105,000 on it now.

Other than the Leaning angle, we love this SUV.

Sounds like a KDSS issue, very easy to reset

2nd KDSS, very simple to fix. If you have a particularly pain in the rear system, you may need to jack up the low side 1-inch higher (vs sitting level on the ground) when resetting the KDSS so it will settle level. This is what I had to do with mine. No matter how many times I reset the KDSS it still had nearly a 1-inch lean to the passenger side. I read somewhere else on the boards that I just needed to open my KDSS, jack the low side up by 1-inch and then close the KDSS valves. Presto, worked perfectly!

Here are the instructions for resetting the KDSS

Thanks everyone !!!!

I will do this as soon as I get back home from working out of town and state

Usually the lean bias with a KDSS equiped LC following a lift is down to the right hand side. Yours is opposite which is odd but may be the same issue I guess.

Following my 50mm lift I also developed a 30mm lean down on RHS. Initially I resolved this by opening both KDSS valves (3 complete turns only!) jacking up the RHS on the chassis frame before retightening the KDSS valves then lowering. This worked for a week or so before the lean returned. Eventually I resorted to winding up he pre-load a bit on my RHS Radflo front coilover. This works fine but its always troubled me that the manufacture's KDSS reset procedure failed to work. Its no co-incidence I guess that the RHS factory front spring is slightly longer than the LHS spring and is a different part entirely). In any event I recently learned from Austimages of a method that does work permanently but is in fact a little counter-intuative until you think the whole KDSS thing thru properly.

Assuming your bias is down on the RHS (I guess the opposite would apply if lean is down on LHS)

1. Get the truck on level ground.
2. Get down under and open the front and rear KDSS valves (3 x 360 degree turns only on both) with a 5mm allen key.
3. Now jack up the left rear axle until the wheel lifts of the ground by say 2 inches. Note that I said the axle, not the frame. You want to compress the suspension on the left rear and at the same time this will compress the suspension on the front right. (yes that's right - the side that's already lower).
4. Now let KDSS system equalize for a bit then do up the KDSS valves again and lower to the ground and you should find the truck will now sit level again.

well......

I dunno what to do now besides replace the rear Driver's side spring.....

I reset it per the ironman/factory method...... still has a 1 inch bias and sits lower on left/Driver's side

I tried the Billfish method above, jacking up under the axle and lifthing the tire, reversing it for the direction it is leaning...... still no luck. It didn't change it at all.

I even did it twice and let it sit for 20 minutes the second time while it was jacked up and the valves were open.

Turn it around and facing the other way when you park it. It has been my experience that when not parked level it will lean and turning it around evens it up.

I wish it were that easy, but it was parked in my garage which I have checked to be very level....

Sorry. It worked for me. Maybe try a 2x6 under the right wheel? I had a slight lean, without mods, and (I thought) it was because the truck wasn't sitting level. I thought it levelled out after turning the truck around.

UPDATE!!

Apparently, after a few weeks, it has settled out level now after this last recommended method!

Thanks!

My 75 mile new 2015 leans about 1/2"- 3/4" down on driver's side front & rear both....pissed me off.

At least I now know I'm not alone. I'm going to let the dealer worry about it.

This is a show stopper on an $80K car.

My experience with dealers is to print out what members have found to work. That way if they say it's normal you have documentation that contradicts and you have instructions that show them what to do to fix it. Saves a lot of back and forth. Good luck pretty truck

1st off..went to to the selling dealer & they pleaded ignorance to the "lean". Unfortunately was in another vehicle so
unable to prove my claim. Told them I would be back - soon.

Of course they implied I was the only one in the world blah, blah. blah.

Owned NSX's since 1994 - last was the 2005 below ↓↓↓ sold in 2010.

The upcoming 2nd gen version that debuted at the Detroit Show last month (Jan '15)
will no doubt hold it's own, but the competition has not been snoozing + they're
talking $150K to play. Running low on spousal enthusiasm for another toy.

Owned 4 land Cruisers during 1998 to 2005 & decided to try again. So far
other than the lean, the '15 is quite familiar. Japanese mfg vehicles are
top quality, but you pay the price.

Lurked this forum for a few months before I jumped ...thanks to everyone
and will push for a resolution....otherwise I'm pretty happy.

Beautiful.

As I child of the 80s, I can remember reading about them when they debuted in the early 90s. I was reading a Road & Track in a Germantown, TN Walgreens magazine section. I have always liked them. Congrats!

The closest thing I ever had to one, was an Integra GSR that I bought in High School. Man was that car fun to drive. I know the Honda enthusiasts get made fun of alot, due to all of the crappy Hollywood movies and rice burner culture, but a 5-speed mated to a 200hp, 9,000 rpm redline is as good as it gets for a 17 year old kid. I miss it. When the VTEC would kick in, it was orgasmic.

I bought a 1991 NSX at the grand opening of the first Carmax in Atlanta Ga. In the mid 90's Red with 18k miles, paid $31k drove it a couple of years sold it for $32k with 29k miles. If you know the Atlanta area you know they have smooth winding roads, fun car and just as dependable as a Honda. Would like to have another one. It was one of my 3 favorite sports cars I've owned through the years. I also loved my 1984 911 black with the turbo spoiler and my 2008 Merlot Astin Martin. But I really love all the 80, 100's and now 200 that I've owned. Guess I have become a Toyota/Lexus SUV guy.
