I have used the early 100 with that weak 8 inch 2 pinion front diff and never had issues.
I think ill be fine with a 250.

The running gear is engine related.
If the LC 250 ever gets the twin 6, it'll get the same running gear.

Both GX 550 and LC250 still have smaller diffs than a LC300.

With the LC300 even the 1GR gets the big diffs like the more powerful diesel/twin 6.

Curious to see if they go hybrid on the LX/300, will they use the 10.7 rear of the Tundra/Seq hybrid ?
I doubt it, might be too big.

At the end of the day you need the optimal size, weight, for the use of the vehicle.
What axle ratio is in 1GR 300 series? Are they running 5 speed or 6 speed auto?
Does it have 4.30 gear?

On the other hand, 4runner is getting trail hunter trim. Which means ARB MT64 and Hybrid. Probably cost the same or more than land cruiser.

To be clear, you’re talking 2nd row ceiling AC vents?

@Specialeyes , the understanding was that the AC vents for the 2 and 3rd rows (even though we don't get 3rd row the AC roof vents were there) are for the middle of the pack LC250 and GX550 premimum models, AND NOT for the 1958 & First edition LC250's and GX550's Overtrail and Overtraill +, unfortunately.

If that is not the case, it would be fantastic indeed because as dumb as this sounds, it is a major feature for my all my kids (two and four legged) ! :)

Looking forward to pics @cruiseroutfit , thank you sir !

And yes, this is the worst "picture thread" ever. LOL

Just me, or is it good to see the cruiser lean continue on? 😂 Pretty sure it’s got a full tank🧐

Interesting that it’s leaning to the right and not the left. The lean usually is always to the left on Japanese vehicles.

Also, what’s with Toyota placing the fuel tank on the right side of the vehicle but then they have the fill up on the left side? Makes it a PITA at the pump due to everyone lining up on the left side pumps while the right side pumps are vacant. If the tank is on the right side, just route the door to the right side as well.

To help get back on track for a picture thread, here are some photos from thedrive.com; nothing new or earthshattering:

Same as the LC250 situation.

Well, Forbes dropped the press release early, but they took it down.
6th gen 4Runner has:

Wheelbase is 2.4” longer than 5th gen, which puts it at 112.2” wheelbase (same as LC250)

Available with the 2.4T and 2.4T-H (same as LC250), same 8-speed transmission

Available 2wd (eww), part time 4WD, and full time 4WD. Both 4WD systems have 2speed transfer case.

Platinum trim gets a locking center differential that is optional on the limited (not sure exactly what they are saying here…maybe the limited gets 4H and 4L-locked, but not 4H-locked? My grand Cherokee is that way)

TRD OR, TRD Pro, and Trailhunter get electronic locking rear diff.

Sway bar disconnect available (not listed what trims)

Overall length is 4.7” longer than 5th gen, which puts it at about 196”, a couple inches longer than the LC250.

Approach angle 32deg, departure angle 24 degrees, a bit better than the LC250, but they don’t specify which trim.

We will have to see pricing, but I don’t really see where this leaves the LC250 if it’s basically the same as the 4R but different body/interior.

^I imagine they published the off road angles for the Trailhunter and/or TRD Pro (whichever is better). I agree it seems like LC250 is immediately back in a weird spot before it's even on sale. The only way it makes sense to me is if the 4Runner trim(s) that have the rear locker and sway disconnect are either only available with part time 4wd or more expensive than an LC somehow.
