I love threads that make me want to sell my cruiser.

Amazing work. But I have to tell you, if I wanted a solid front axle I would still have my 56 Dodge Power Wagon.
You might be the only one who doesn't want a solid axle 100....
I guess there’s two of us cuz I don’t want one either.
That being said, this swap is cool as hell!
Why don't you want one? I guess if you don't wheel there is no major issues with IFS. I am tired of fiddling with torsion bars, CV's, and wish I could have some real articulation in the front end. Would just get an 80 but I really like the 4.7L.

I would love a SAS as well, @I Lean this is looking beautiful! Jealous.
The only reason I could see for not wanting a SFA on a 100 is that the 100 frame doesn't allow for as much travel as a 105 or 80. In Australia they usually chop the front frame off a 105 and use that for the SAS - but then you run into motor clearance issues with the 2UZ if I remember right - I think they mostly do that with the 1HD-FTE. Or maybe if you do more long dirt roads than crawling. But I'd much rather SAS a 100 than V8 swap an 80
I expected the frame to be an issue for compression travel--it is not. The oil pan is though....the axle will hit the pan probably 2" before it hits frame.
The width of the frame is a bit more of an issue if you want to run a separate coil and shock--that's why my coil mounts are all the way out on the knuckle. A coilover would be much easier to package, but I wanted the maintenance-free aspect of this route.
