First. Try to push the tailgate in while you try the key. Possibly the safety plunger is catching. Also if it’s hung at a weird angle or in the weatherstrip the trip breaker in the system will stop it annoyingly quick. This is to stop from stripping the gear.

None of these work. Gonna have to crawl back there and remove the panel

If it turns out to be the safety switch, just jumper it out on the terminal block in the tailgate. Only takes one wire and I think most of us have it bypassed that way. Good luck. That tailgate is a thing of beauty when it works and a total bitch otherwise.

Too busy trying to get the 40 back on the road. Haven’t done much on the 55.

Not for the 55 since it has a new split-case in it. I did get the Orion all buttoned up in the 40, and have the T-case out of the 45 trying to decide which direction I want to go with that truck.
