Any updates?
I am still stuck trying to find a test mule. I have requested a loaner form the local Toyota dealer (as if I were to buy) which they are looking into, bottomed out all rental car companies in the area, gone through the local TLC club - nada. I am going to a rock crawl event today in the hopes of finding someone in the parking lot. If that does not pan out plan is to probably drive to Portland to meet with a guy, haven;t yet because of schedule at my day job.

Once I get these anchors figured out it should be <2 weeks.

Sorry for this delay!

While we wait for @cruzerDave to find a test mule, wondering what everyone else are planning to do with their drawers?

I’m thinking about fabricating a steel box with a hinged (and maybe spring loaded) top opening lid and a lock that’s fitted into one of the drawers.

My thought was to use it as a long gun/valuables safe, as well as be able to utilize the flat top surface as a table top/cooking surface.

I’ll be back in Bend July 12.

@Bendcruiser is back in town and we are coordinating our schedules for measurements! Thanks for your patience everyone, hopefully I have all the CNC files done this weekend, a production test set early next week, then production and shipping...

I spent a while in the back of @Bendcruiser 's 200 yesterday (thank you!), and he helped me settle on an approach to dealing with the extreme reclining capabilities of the 2nd row seats.

The problem is they go waaaaay down. Drawers would need to either be veeeeeery shallow, or very short - neither really fit the concept of 'drawers to store stuff', and would leave a HUGE gap between them and the back seats folded down to sleep on.

Keeping in mind these are supposed to be Keep It SIMPLE storage drawers, and DIY-ready and affordable to boot, and it doesn't leave a lot of options here. I think we settled on a good approach tough, where the drawers can be quickly configured to either allow 50% recline (7 of the 14 clicks back) or the top extended to minimize the gap when sleeping, or wanting to carry more on top with the seats in a more 'normal' sitting position. I'm modeling it today/tomorrow and will show you more soon ;)

Also, I confirmed fit of my proto skeleton as designed so I am on track to have a full set of plans to my CNC guy on Monday, for cutting production unit #1.

Any thoughts an terminating the drawers on a 45 instead of a 90? Might allow more recline in the second row and it'd be easy enough to stuff a rolled blacket or alike to fill the gap when folded down for sleeping on. Just sharing carry on. Nice work

It appears from the photos, that you are taking measurements with the rear seat bottom in its most forward position. I would think most people have the seat bottom at its rear most position and thus the seat back is limited in its recline.

didn't look like the seat bottom seat moved forward/back, might've missed that adjuster though, was it an option or only on certain models? Can you (or anyone else) please post up pics of different positions or email them to me???

Yikes, that IS a difference! Thank you for the pics, hate to bug but would you mind taking those same all-the-way front and then back pics, but from the rear cargo area? @Bendcruiser is fishing again today and I'd like to consider this as I prep files for tomorrow's hand-off to CNC... thank you!

Shouldn’t be a problem getting more pictures, I just don’t have a tape measure with me at the moment. I’m on my way to Telluride so at my next stop, I’ll snap a few. I fall into the group that shelby95 mentioned, I usually keep my rear seats in the rear most position.

I looked at your photos again and must retract my earlier assessment. I believe you had the seats in the most aft position. I didn’t realize that the seats would recline to that degree. Sorry.

See attached photos.
1st photo shows difference between 0 and max recline.
2nd & 3rd photos show difference in seat position between full forward (left) and full back (right)
4th & 5th photo shows measurement between full forward and full back.

Wow, great photos @Itsky @shelby95 @Sac Cerevisiae, thank you! Looks like we did indeed have the seat all the way back before reclining, so I bet if we had 50% recline back then pushing fwd will get you 75-90% full recline, should be enough I hope, after all every mod involves a sacrifice of some kind right? ;) Back to 3D land I go, thanks again!
