First model done, cutfiles generated and sent to CNC. Unsure timeframe to cut, hopefully handful of days, then I'll be back to show you the results in @Bendcruiser 's truck....

Sadly no parts yet, CNC guy is out sick, hoping he gets back tomorrow and gets right on it, promise to keep updating you guys!

Good news, picked up proto 1 yesterday!

Based on experience I expect to need a proto 2 before committing to full production runs, but I'm test-fitting this one tomorrow and will know for sure then. Progress!

The 570 has sliding seats too - they are power adjustable.

If it helps, I made my DIY drawers 40" to split the difference between max depth and leaving room for recline/adjust back. The gap is also small enough that I could sleep on top. I also have enough room to stash longer items between the drawers and rear seats.

Thanks for the input and suggestions @tbisaacs, it sounds like we arrived at similar conclusions ;)

Sorry for the delay in posting this, I've both family AND friends in town (tis the tourist season here)... I test-fit proto1 in @Bendcruiser's rig on Tuesday (again a HUGE thank you!) and as expected lots and lots of stuff great, but couple things need tweaking:

I am updating the model, making new cut files, and off to CNC by end of weekend. As soon as I have the tweaks tested we are GO for production.

On the sizing front, I settled on 40" deep as the 'standard' configuration, like @tbisaacs, ARB, and others, BUT that was a big gap to close for sleeping SO I am also including a KISS solution: 5" spacer that you can install at the campsite to give you a better night's rest (you can see it in the middle):

There will still be a small gap to bridge between the platform and the folded seats, just like on 80s and 100s, but an air mattress or even a rolled up towel will fill that in no problem. This way you will have maximum (practical with drawers installed anyway) 2nd row seat positioning and reclining, yet the ability to sleep on the drawers. With the drawers at 40" deep (no spacer), 2nd row slid forward, you can recline waaaaay back, with the seats slid back (toward the drawers), recline about halfway. With the spacer in there and the seats slid forward, you can recline a couple clicks, about the angle my FJ62 rear seat was at, so still usable. If anyone wants a different spacer width, like 2 or 3", well as I like to say: "the KISS Drawers are the starting point for your custom drawers" ;)

Great idea CruzerDave, can’t wait to get these installed in the rig!

Proto2 cutfiles and changes are into the CNC'er. Once he has another complete set cut (likely next M/T) it goes into @Bendcruiser 's rig one FINAL time for final confirmations, then we are building and shipping. VERY close now! Thank you for your patience...

For those waiting for the KISS drawers it will be worth it. Dave@cruzerDave is a maniac , in a good way, about the fit and simple approach of his system. It’s actually been fun watching him perfect the final product in my 2015 . Almost there!

Eagerly awaiting the completion of the 200 series drawers. I like simple and I like weight savings, really like your design and hope to send some business your way soon!

And at looooooooooooooooooooooong last design is over.

I test-fit proto2 into @Bendcruiser 's rig today (thank you again, you have been a HUGE help!) and found only a couple 0.10" tweaks I want to make, which means I will be updating files and sending to CNC next week.

(wings not bolted down, ignore the fitment there)

*Unfortunately* his CNC has been down all last week so there will be a backlog, but we're done with unknowns and on to moving through a routine checklist of getting parts cut, back to my father-in-law's garage (mine can not physically take more, different parts - as it is I have to QC everything 3x to make sure I'm not sending FJ spacers for an 80), assembling and boxing, and cracking a cold one while FedEx picks them up ;)

Those looking to order I'll get them up on the website next week and shipping will be 3-4 weeks, and one last time, THANK YOU everyone for your patience!

What are the final measurements?
Height, Avg Widith, Avg Length.
Overall height is 12.0", width is 3/16 - 1/4 off the side plastic (57.75" at widest), depth is 40.0" in standard config, with 45" in sleeping mode.

20180909 UPDATE - The CNC has been down all week with software (possibly PC) problems. He is hoping to be back online this week. I'm as frustrated as all of you, guaranteed, but you guys are being great at understanding and I thank you. As soon as I know more I'll let you know too.

If anyone has a moment, can you please remove the plastic grommet at the rear, the one used for hanging cargo nets for those folks without awesome drawer systems?

As I wait for the plywood I thought I would source a nice cover/plug so when you remove the part it doesn't leave an annoying hole.

I just need to know the opening diameter.
Thanks!
