I got this truck (rig) two years ago its a 76 fj40 its been in my driveway ever since it has 37000 original miles little rust here and there but its in prety good shape when i start it i have to pull the choke all the way out and if i push it back in even after driving it for half an hour it dies Ihave 3 allmost grown children so this is my new baby my wife hates it I love it

there is a fuel cutoff selenoid, I think, on your carb, make sure it's functioning

she wants it out of the driveway she calls it a jeep end a pease of s*** and that realy hearts my fealings
i got it for 3000 dollars and im getting to like it more and more as i fix one thing after a nother

you can see the pictures if you look at mitchhonore he is my son we are in it together i do the work he researshes for parts and he found the rig to anyway i just picked up a hardtop and front doors today in very good shape my vife wasent to happy that i spent the money but what the hell

Needing to have the choke out to keep it running can be a sign of a vacuum leak. I'd start there first.
