Awesome time for sure, excellent planning and rallying by @fj40alex ... we had a blast and it was a great first camping trip for my kid and I. It was a great adventure, some little stream crossings, lots of white knuckle don’t look down moments... some amazing views and great people. Thanks to all for making it a really memorable adventure!

Ps: while it may be tempting, after no showering for two days... I do not recommend taking off your radiator cap to add water after driving to the top of a mountain! A coolant shower is warm, acoulding, but it is not refreshing...what a dummy

Find the cruiser... ahh. Shizzle that’s a long hike down from max patch

Awesome to hear nature’s sound machine all night, was amazing to get under it, refreshing and once in a lifetime for me and the kiddo...

Hard to keep up with the short wheelbase guys...

Nice pit stop on way home

As @Roxx stated so correctly... “now back to reality”...

Btw why the heck is that 2f that is five years older than mine so much faster???? Must be the race car red

Thanks to everyone that made this trip a excellent trip. Even the weather gave us a break. It only rain at night!! Planning was as good as improvisation and a very easy going people. We are looking forward for next years. I hope for that, i will have the overhead issue figured out and the new master cylinder. The RTT tent performed better than expected, both nights we were dry.

Had a great time! Will definitely bring Allison on the next trip!

Memorable Things:
  • Dinner the first night
  • Max and Ava drinking rainwater from the tarp
  • The view from Max Patch.
  • The hunt for the radiator cap.
    ...Then the cap spring.
    ...Then the cap seal.
    ...Then the cap again.
Also, I just want everyone to know... George wasn't the only one to suffer catastrophic trail damage. I, too, had extensive damage to the Queen...

Please, pour one out for the center cap of my wheel. Might as well throw the whole truck away now...

I kept waiting for the timing to workout for Max or Ava to catch a gallon of water to the face from this activity, but it (sadly?) never came!

Just my luck, the campsite had great trees for hammock hanging and didn't get to use my fancy new Eno wheel mounts :(. Although, I was too big of a chicken to be in the hammock during the overnight storms so it didn't matter anyway.

It's hard to see, but that small speck in the middle is the Red Baron's last flight, approximately 50 miles away...

Allison gave her stuffed animal, Boxie, and asked me to document her adventure.

The final night we weren't sure what kind of crowd we were rolling in on at the campgrounds, so Boxie came in ready and wishing somebody would...

That is so awesome. I think you just named the 80...Trash...but Trash Can sounds so much better.

Great trip! Nathan and I had a blast. The RTT kept us high and dry. Cotton did great on its maiden wheeling voyage. I can’t imagine a better time with a better group of folks. ONSC rocks!

Given the trip tag line, I nominate the truck name as either "Cubo" (wheel hub in Spanish) or "Perdí" (lost in Spanish). Combined, the uppedity given name can be "Perdí Cubo" for formal outings and black tie events.

What about “La caliente” to mine. Always hot!!

But you gonna fix that Rafe, then she'll be la perra fresca
