Amazing work by Jonathan Ward here. LS swap and stuff, but pretty sure everything else is as OEM as it can get.

I dunno. I suppose I've been broke for too long to appreciate stuff like that. I find the threads of someone putting something together slowly with consideration and intent as time/money allowed much more appealing.

Joe if you're reading this, please help restore my 80!

Funny how "everything now" makes relatively recent topics seem like old news.
While I appreciate the time and resources put into any build, ESPECIALLY those on a tight budget and/or time constraint, I couldn't help but notice they must have run out of material when adding covers to the grab handles. Seriously, they look short-changed. Additionally, visible screw-heads on the door lights look out of place on the build-level of this 80 series.
The upholstery work looks fantastic, the front seats look awesome. The idea of using net to replace the factory door map pockets was a compromise that somehow ended up looking a bit low-tier and not in keeping with the overall build-level.
But, that's just my opinion and this is the mighty 80 series, is it not? So, utility it is and one person's vision is another person's dream.
That said, the 80 series is arguably the greatest all-around 4x4 ever created for it's time and continues to be a fantastic project starter, late night table talk, fireside chat, pocket-drainer, knuckle busting soul-searcher, relationship builder - or devil-be-damned destroyer of all.
I wasn't going to say this much but I got carried away.
That under-carriage is the stuff of dreams.
