is this too much rust?

Have spent weeks learning about 100-series and am now searching for the right '06-'07. This one has great service records, but the amount of rust underneath was a bit more than I expected. I believe it spent its entire life in Kansas so far. I looked through all the other rust help threads I could find, but being new at this, and it being a bit subjective, wanted to still seek out opinions.

So, is this just surface rust that shouldn't stand in my way, or see anything concerning? Thanks.

Naaa, just clean up the parking brake assembly on the rear axle housing

The answer may vary with the state it is coming from / has been running and the result you want to end up with.
In Europe if we are looking for a 100-Series to buy, we are more than happy to find one with that tiny bit of rust. Looks like the muffler might going to split open sooner or later as mine did last year.

I'd like to trade in my underbody condition for your's :)

I'm still waiting to see pics of the rust.

I feel so picky! I really appreciate the info. Moving forward. After reading about service records and underside rust for weeks, I guess I was a bit overly sensitive to any at all. Hope to land this one soon.

Did anyone see the first two pics of that pristine skid plate and just think "OP, shut up".

That's a very nice truck with a negligible amount of surface rust. Many people here in the crappy snowy states would kill for that . Did you look at any pictures of rusty trucks for comparison?

Thanks, everyone.

I did, quite a few different threads, actually - but given my lack of experience in this area, just wanted confirmation. The bad cases and perfect cases are easy to identify, but anything in the middle, I'm more unsure. Appreciate it.

This is exactly the boat I was in a few weeks ago. No harm in asking.
