Hey folks, I spoke with Lance at IPOR today and they don't have any Rocker/Sliders in stock and as of now are not planning on having any more produced. Lance has to have them produced in larger batches and it took him 2 years to sell all that he had the last time.

I was inquiring because my rockers are swiss cheese and wanted something more heafty. Well, in speaking with Lance, if enough people will commit to purchase a set, he will see about running another batch. We really need at least 4 (but 5 would be better) commitments. He sells them for around $185 plus shipping and doesn't really mark them up at all from what he pays for them.

Anyone besides me willing to commit to a set? Thanks y'all!

EDIT: They are in!!! If you have committed to these, please call Lance today at 1-866-iron-pig to pay for your rockers. They will be $190 + shipping.

The stamped steel rockers that Lance sells are a nice heavy reproduction of the lower rocker. You only get the stamped outer shells. You need to box them in before installation. Evan Jenkins had some nice photos of his installation, they were hosted on Birfield. It is a nice way to add some beef and keep a stock look. I might be able to get some photos of how Lance and crew installed them on Clay's pig today.

they didnt put sliders on my pig,,,, uh wait you mean to tell me theres another pig owner out there named clay?!?! now thats gotta be worse odds than winning the lotto.

Sorry Rhino,

The Clay I am talking about owns several Toyota dealerships in the area. He isn't really big in the Landcruiser circles, but his 55 was built sparing no expense. Unfortunately Clay had picked up his 55 before I had a chance to get any photos. I dug through the old posts and found a bad shot of Evans 55. He took a very different approach when attaching the rocker reproductions. He just overlaid the 3/16" reproduction over his old rockers and then ran runners back to the frame.

This wasn't the way they were intended to be used, but it turned out very nice.

so from the pics it looks like this is a somewhat different than what is there stock? Do the rockers ipor sells have the lip front and back for the fender flare. I am really trying to do a restore so a modified rocker I am not interested in. Does anyone have pics of the bare rocker they sell as it sits out of the box? I would want something that looks stock that I can but weld in there and grind smooth so it ends up being stock looking. I also need to do some more digging into my truck to see if the rockers are necessary BUT for the price and if they are truly a stock look, I will buy a pair. Anybody with pics would be appreciated.

is this what they look like out of the box, with the lips all done, or is that needed to be done by the end user?

IPOR rockers

Noah,
The IPOR rockers don't come with a front or back flare. They look like stock when fitted up but we cut the flare off the removed part of the fenders and welded it to the rockers to make it look stock.

I put The IPOR sliders on my 55 and I think they worked out great. The installation is on a thread in this forum https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=35769 (I think).
The end result is here https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=96366
K9 you saw it at the light at Buford Highway and 120 in Duluth the other day.

I did? I don't think that was me, but it could have been. What was I driving? Oh, and when was it? I am currently in Durango, CO and haven't been back in the ATL since the 7th!

Oh, and I plan on relocating the lip of mine to get that stock look too.

I was planning on buying a set but I'm not ready to put them on yet. It never occured to me that they might become unavailable. If it came down to it I'd go ahead and get them now and find a place to store them until I'm ready to put them on the pig. Count me in.

IPOR sliders

K9-- you were in a silver FJ cruiser with an ARB bumper and an ih8mud rear window sticker. It was before July 4th. I was in the gray and white 55. You went on towards Alpharetta on 120.
Before this turns into "Strangers in the Night"...... maybe it wasn't you.

I'll put in for a pair...

I'll take a pair like Porterda's, as long as they're the square tube rocker replacement with the nerf bars.

They will not have nerf bars, the only part that is included here is the actual rocker piece that you see on the outside. The inside is NOT included and neither are any nerf bars.

Lance explained the install to me and basically (as far as I understand without seeing them) you use box tube across the two sides that are towards the inside of the truck, then weld these to the exposed edges and close up the ends with sheet. Effectively taking square tube and making 2 sides into one curve that mimics the stock rocker.

That being said, here are the folks I have in so far.

I'll wait a couple of days to make sure you are committed and then I'll call Lance. Meanwhile, since I don't know all of your names, please PM me with your info so Lance knows you are going to follow through with him.

Thanks so much guys, my piggie thanks you too.

P.S. Sorry it took me so long to respond to this, I was in Ouray, CO wheeling this week!

IPOR slider

Mine came already closed up and we just cut and welded the nerf bars on after the rockers were installed. One trick, When you cut off the old rockers, try to save the mounting tabs which are attached to the frame. They'll help ou line up the new rockers.

IPOR sliders

My mistake, the tabs are attached to the floorboards--not the frame. Sorry
