Yep those were another set I was looking at before but cant remember why I decided not to pursue further...I think I may have gotten them confused with Black Duck Seat Coverings and stopped there. Definitely an option though...thanks for the reminder.
I'm interested in how the ironman suspension has settled in. I'm due for new shocks soon, so I plan on swapping new springs in as well. The ironman kit seems to be a good be a bit cheaper than the OME.
I have seen Brocks truck when he installed it all the way till this morning when he came by my house. I do not see where it has settled at all but it rides good.

I am running OME coils in the rear and Ironman shocks. I'm very happy with the Ironman shocks. They are basically same specs as the OME shocks so they are longer than Bilsteins available in America. There are a number of threads about shocks on here if you search. I posted a bunch of specs on shocks at some point when I was researching components for my lift.
I have not noticed any settling after the initial setup...I had a heavy trailer and about 700lbs of green oak in it today and it barely squatted at all...could not tell any difference in ride height. I think it rides really good...I know some find hard to believe but it is a nice riding suspension. No regrets.
I just read through this entire thread. Very nice work on your truck. This thread answered a lot of questions that i've been thinking about since i first started looking into 100s. I had a question for you. After the front and rear bumpers, you still had the ahc installed. Did you notice any negative effects on the ahc? Any problem or struggling to raise or lower the suspension?
Also... with the wkor sliders... you purchased them while you had the ahc and thus had only the two mounting points for them. Do you feel that this is adequate/strong enough? This is something i'm trying to figure out. Without the ahc, wkor will sent the sliders with the three mounting points. This is why i haven't purchased them already. I'm worried about how well they will hold up while doing their thing on the rocks. I'm considering removing the ahc sooner rather than later, however, im still under warranty and would prefer not to void anything.
One more thing... why did you choose to remove the ahc rather than cap the lines?
2. My AHC did not have any problem while driving around but would lose a little height at night while parked or if braking hard it would have to readjust itself....so I decided to just go ahead and install the kit I bought from Ironman instead of waiting for it to fail. I could have gone another year easily with a fluid flush of the system I think.
3. I have had no issues with WKOR with only two mounts and had the vehicle slide along some pretty good size boulders and rock outcroppings. It would be stronger with three but I have not noticed anything here in east that would make me reconsider before they are totally wrecked and replaced in few years. If in MOAB maybe but even then the damn things are very solid and I feel strong enough...
4. I did not want the extra weight in there...the globes are heavy as hell....as is the resevoir/motor....Plus I want to put a dual battery setup in her in a year or two and that is the only place I can see a battery fitting. Just not much for leaving extra weight in there when I have enough already. I am guessing it is 75-100lbs total for everything......pump, globes, lines, fluid, etc....
Ok. I got it. I was worried about having to remove the entire ahc system when i go to a full suspension set-up. I have no problem leaving in the lines and capping them. I will remove the part of the system where the dual battery goes as i plan on installing one in the future. I would love to see a built lx hundy in person. Perhaps one day i will. Just not too many here in NY.
This is a great LX thread, I haven't seen too many on here and no LX Featured Rigs, are there any other good LX threads on here? Searching for LX builds and a couple of other combos results in so many hits it's hard to find anything specific.
Wife gave me early Christmas present....no not that...I get that all the time . She paid for my window tinting as the light bronze on front windows did nearly nothing to keep heat and glare out of cabin....and rear was not dark enough either to keep prying eyes from seeing everything I have stuck in the rear.
I went to Mr Tint in Charleston...there is one in Columbia as well. They had the Llumar ATR bronze tint in 34% and 20% in stock. So had them do me all the way around with 20%. I put a piece of the 35% up behind front windows and it was little to no difference really...I was disappointed and wondered if the 35% bronze is really that different than 35% black in visual comparisons. So I went with 20% on all side and rear windows. I think it came our great and does not appear to be that dark to me as my wife's was on her car in the black/grey color that is common now.
Anyhow...if anyone needs Llumar ATR in 20 or 35...Mr Tint in Columbia SC and Charleston SC can get it. Normal price is $250 for full size SUV like the LX470.
Before Picture....you can see trees, building, etc through to opposite side of vehicle if you look closely. no, it is not the plastic bumpers that make it lighter
After Picture.....not exact same angle but is in full sun and pretty much evenly blocks especially for front windows. I will set up the exact same shot and take it with my good camera instead of cell phone for better comparison later.
In the one you can see how the front tint really has little to no impact on being able to see corner of house and even the color of green leaves in tree on lot next to me. In the after picture you can tell a definite visual difference on the trees on same woodline...nearly cant see them at all even though the bare trunks are lighter even.
it isnt that dark from inside...that was why I was wondering what a visual test between 20% bronze and 20% dark gray would be.....though by the numbers should be same but does not look that dark to me truthfully.
yeah, I can back it up...did it last night coming from hunting with my anemic reverse lights. I will love it this Summer I am sure when the sun is baking me again.
Come by LexTech Automotive on Folly Road tomorrow after 3pm and meet a bunch of other cruiser heads...we are having a little get together there Saturday afternoon.
