Oily and dirty butterfly air intake on my 2003 LC with 280k miles. What's the cause and any special way to clean? ALSO see oil on hose/pipe just above air intake. What's this all about?
Normal, search for cleaning the throttle body, not difficult to do at all, 10 min job.
You might also want to replace that hose with the foam insulation. That is the pcv valve hose. While your at it replace the pcv valve and grommet if your valve is not the screw on kind. Not sure if the 2003 uses the grommet or not.
