After saying for some time that I wasn't switching to 315s my situation changed and I earlier this week I had some STTs installed . I have now put about 150 miles on them in a variety of situations, city/highway with a combo of dry, wet, ice (only a thin layer of snow). If they continue to work as good as they look I'll be more than satisfied.

As of now I have nothing but praise. The noise levels on the hwy are respectable. The traction on wet and icy streets was great and what little snow I have been in wasn't even noticeable.

I also replaced my "warped" tie rod and had it aligned (the tech was shocked how close I got the toe adjustment using a tape measure :D) and even with the caster at 0.2 deg they track nicely ( although I will be looking at more correction) and they balanced nicely without needing too much weight.

without further delay the pics....

Looks good

Nice to see another convert to the true all terrain capability of the modern "MT". :D

I have loved mine for the 15 months I have had them. The noise level has taken a step up but what do you expect from a MT. I picked up a stick in one of them on my way out to a Death Valley trip 2-3 months ago. The stick was on the edge of the tread so I was worried it wouldn't be fixable but it never actually punctured through. I pulled it off as a preventative measure since I was going to be wheeling with air pressure down. So although I picked up a stick in the valley of the tread on the tire it did not puncture!

So Mike, according to how 4WD Toyota Owner calculates tire sizes, those are 36's?:grinpimp:

Interesting. I'd like to see how they determine the measurements. I had the STT's on my '97 Lexus and they measured just over 34.5" - before being put on the truck. I had mine for about a year and had nothing but good to say about them. In fact, I'm considering a set for my current '95.

It's kind of an inside joke. Basically, the author of the article on the 255/85/16 BFG MT/ Tacoma says the 255's are 35" tires!

I've got time on Sunday if you want to do a test fit :D

Thanks, but I can't stand the temptation, I am a poor bike shop guy this winter:frown:

Looks pretty close to the Toyos OC MT and I'm totaly in love with mines .. nice 80 BTW .. leveled lift kit ?
Very similar to the Toyos, although lighter and even better ... cheaper;)

With the mixing and matching of springs and spacers to overcome all the stuff up front I did finally end up level ...maybe a little too level (sags with my trailer hooked up)

The tires look good. What lights do you have in your ARB bar...they look like they fit nicely.

Huh? ;)

I think he's asking which fog light you have in the marker light holes of your ARB bumper, which is a question I would like to have answered as well.

Those tires look nice. How much did they set you back $ ?

Nice looking tires and lovin the white. The rig looks great!

Nice to hear the good reviews. I have the older Cooper ST's on my 80 Series TD. Had the same set of 6 rotating through for nearly 100,000kms now across all sorts of terrain, from Simpson desert (Central Australia), NSW beaches, to Victorian high country mud and snow, and they are still going strong. Great for daily driving as well. I hope the STT's have the same sort of longevity.
