Installed Dobinson's 1.75 Inch Variable Rate Suspension Kit: C59 - 222V, C59 223V (1 Viewer)

I have not done anything yet and need to get my numbers to see where it is. My "before" was probably lowered an inch from factory and therefore the caster was likely more laid back than factory settings which I noticed as a high steering effort. I have not driven the vehicle much since fitting the lift so I can't say how it drives, only what it looks like.

It does have a little nervousness on uneven pavement but that may be the tires to fault. My 100 has 275/75-18 (33") and of course it has IFS so it's pretty civil on the road. It's fine on the highway where it's level and flat (I'm in KS, I know flat. )

I’ve had the same for a few years. Easily best lifted ride of everything I’ve tried over the years. Caster correction is needed. Bushings barely got me back to spec at 2.2*.

I do recommend getting a BEFORE lift caster reading to help determine which solution best meets the target correction, some 80’s have more caster challenge than others leading to all the different levels of satisfaction with various methods, plates, arms, bushings, etc.

This sounds like a great set up. I bet with deleted fender flares, mud flaps, and running boards, along with some hammer action that one could run 315's with the right wheels using this set up.

Really, I'm currently running a 2" ironman lift with deleted and trimmed fenders(at least in the rear). Not to mention the hammering and deleted flaps and such. I am running 315's and I still rub every now and then. Even after the hammer treatment.

That being said it could be as simple as the wrong wheels. I am not really sure what wheels I have other than they are 16"... but everytime I have rubbed I was probably going to fast and really smacking some big bumps. Hasn't ever rubbed doing slow articulation stuff. I bet different wheels would fix it for me. The PO of my rig was running 37"s at one point with a 6" slee and he still had to trim the fenders to avoid rubbing.

You may be my favorite person right now for 2 reasons.
1) I have terribly sagging suspension and also have hard steering. i have been trying to figure out where the hard steering is coming form and didn't even think of this as an option.
2) This is EXACTLY the amount of lift i want with exactly the size tire that's going on my 80 (i like the lowest possible lift to fit the desired tire), so i'm very happy to see what it'll look like with my specific choices. i figure if i add weight i can add spacers later. cheers to you.

question: any trimming necessary to eliminate rub?

I haven't moved the wheel around in the well very much, so I'm not sure how the clearances are.

I also don't have panhard correction yet.

At that low lift is the oanhard adjustment super necessary? My plan is to kinda take it slow and get components over time.

i have this lift but the linear spring version (installed a few weeks ago) i'm not running one and i don't really think its very necessary at this lift height, i was thinking about the delta bracket for the rear but i'm not experiencing any abnormal handling characteristics. I'm not a rock crawler per se so i'm not sure if not having an adjustable panhard will effect flexing. I know it effects axle location but currently i don't see the axle out of place enough to justify any further parts being installed on my rig. I am running the delta lower arms and have achieved 2.2 degrees of positive camber and i think it's perfect as is, no twitchyness or sawing back and forth at the wheel when at freeway speeds.

I'm running the 2" version of the delta vs arms and the lift I got is more like 2.5-3" after measuring my rig is light and I have the springs accounting for extra weight. Front measured 19.5 front hub to fender pre lift and 22 1/2after. And 20" prelift rear and 23 1/4 after

yes the 2" delta vs arms, caster after is 2.2 degrees i don't know before, but as it is right now i am very happy with the handling, not twitchy compared what it was with the stock arms and lift. i think any more caster and the steering feels too "slow/heavy" even though i know the ratio does not change what so ever. if you look in my build thread i posted everything i've done so far including a shot of my alignment

I just received my C59-222V and C59-223V springs from Dobinsons today. I see they are marked left and right on the springs and I was wondering if that is how you guys installed yours? I know sometimes Australian companies setup for RHD so I’m unsure if I should install them opposite? Thanks for the reviews and information as I was undecided about springs for a few months.

My lefts were the longer springs. I put the left on the left.
