Short story. I have a problem with my wiper linkage. The last time they were working, they seized up, there was a loud popping noise and they haven’t worked since. So I started investigating. I removed the motor cover and set it on top of the passenger front tire because I’m an idiot. An hour later it starts to rain and I quickly jump in and drive the truck back into the garage and run the cover over…We’ll s***. So now I’m looking to either repair it or replace it. In looking around to see what’s available I notice everything looks different than the one I ran over. Does this look original?

Wiper motor covers differ in size a little, around 1976-1978, so you may have to pick around to find exactly the one you need. Don't assume any from that era will just magically fit.

Here is a part number:

85209-90800 COVER, WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR

Finding the right one, should be interesting

You didn't say what year cruiser you have. My microfiche set for the US and Canadian market, period from 03/69 to 07/80 shows two different p/n's. The p/n shown above may be for a later model. I couldn't begin to tell what the difference there is between these covers. Good luck on your search for replacement or repair of existing piece.

I haven't seen one with that Bump out the side...but maybe that has a heavy duty motor in it?

Usually I just leave stuff on the roof. That would have caused far less damage.
Thanks for the diagram Jmylie. That’s what I’ve found when I’ve searched for a replacement. I’ll probably have to give one a try because this one is wrecked.
BTW, This is what I found when I opened up the cowling. Two of the three bushings broke when the arms popped off. Not sure if that’s in item that available

I have both versions of the cover available used. I think I even have one in mustard. But iirc it's the earlier 75-77 version.

If the mustard 75-77 version is available I’ll take it. Will call Monday to check on availability.

The bulge in your cover looks familiar. I have something similar, but not as refined. I figured i was the only one. I was looking forward to swapping the red cover out with an unaltered one, but it didn't fit. I swapped motors. Green cover and motor and the plug was in the way and the cover wouldn't fit. I didn't pursue it beyond that. I've been slicing and dicing a windshield frame. I'll figure it out in the future. I think it's a motor and wiring issue.

Do you sell parts? Do you have a linkage? I can push mine together but it wouldn’t take much strain and it’d pop out again

I have done similar, only it was a gas cap at the gas station….didn't notice ‘till I got back to the house. Then back to the station to retrieve it….and found I wasn’t the ONLY one that ran it over🤣🤣🤣🤣
I put my gas cap on the running board once, filled up and drove to the movies. When I went around to the passenger side it was still sitting there.

Your web site doesn’t seem to be working 🤷‍♂️
Yes, he sells parts, is a master carb rebuilder, and knows these trucks incredibly well. @65swb45 is old school and does business over the phone.

I couldn't get his link to work either.

I drove to the grocery store with a can of pop on the passenger side front fender. It was 8 minutes down the road... and it was still there when I got there.
