I'll be interested in the discussion on this one. You may have heard about this fabled 1988 FJ62 but in case you haven't, enjoy!

Most FJ62’s have plenty of miles on them. Finding examples with under 100K is pretty rare! We've all talked about buying a vehicle and squirreling it away for 30 years. Occasionally it happens. The owner of this 1988 Land Cruiser did just that. She had other cars to drive so this beauty sat in the garage and was used VERY sparingly over the years.

This enigma has less than 14K miles! Nope that's not a typo. When I originally found her in 2014, she had 9000 miles. When it comes to original examples, it's as perfect as you will ever find. Flawless body and interior. Original paint, engine, transmission, everything except the tires. We even have the window sticker and the build sheet from Japan.

Located in IL
Firmly priced at $69,900. (For those who like to dicker, It's $72,500) :)

Right cause you can just find stupid people after stupid people. That’s a stupid risk and return.
This truck will likely be sold to a collector. I posted it here because I thought the members on the forum would enjoy taking a look, not to piss people off so they can hack at it. There are plenty of expensive vehicles out there including Land Cruisers, Bronco's, etc. For the people that buy collectable trucks, that kind of money probably doesn't even move the needle.

All too often we see trucks sell for prices that others condemn. This is because for nearly every vehicle, at every price, there will be a group of people who are certain it’s too expensive. We live in a free market, though, where the seller and buyer determine the price, so saying something is too expensive isn’t really saying anything all. If you want to make a case for a price opinion, point to a comparable sale or offer instead.

Where’s your comparable sale? If it’s guarnteed to sell for 10k more next year why sell it now?

I don't have time, desire or need to continue this debate. Suffice to say, it's not the truck for you.

It’s easy to say something is ugly or stupid, and sometimes it’s even warranted. It’s harder, and more valuable, to say how you might improve it. Anyone can say something sucks. — It adds little to the discussion. Value is added when you can specify what is wrong and how it might be fixed.

Plenty of people pay $60k + for Landrovers and other British electrical gremlin ridden vehicles. Lots of buyers out there.......just need to get the right eyeballs on this and "poof" - gone.

I'm a long-time cruiser guy who is super sad to see Land Cruisers get all this attention and fetch silly prices based on trends and fads, but that's just me being jealous because I can no longer afford them. This is a beautiful original example and I don't doubt it will get every penny of the asking price. Look at what restorations that top shops produce sell for. This one is original. You guys who are trolling this thread, piss off.

GLWTS Overton.

Thanks for posting!

Neat to see it exists and yes for $69k it is a limited market, keep us posted, it will neat to follow!

I would rather see a 13K mile cruiser like this than not see it at all. Thanks for posting this Overton and GLWTS!!

Can't like this comment enough. I just sold my cherry 1989 Cherokee XJ. I had it posted up for $7,500 and I had people condemning me saying it was only worth $3,500. It sold in two days for $7,300 and I had quite a few parties interested.

Long story short, @ss95003 if you think the price is high, think it to yourself, move on and buy something for what you think is a fair price. More often than not there's someone out there who will pay more than you think.

Be funny if it turned out to be 150,000 mile vehicle that just had a poorly documented broken odometer changed out :)
