Extremely long time lurker here. For once I might have something to contribute rather than leeching off everyone's knowledge.

I got Techstream to work on my M1 Mac with the downloads linked in the OP and this cable off Amazon.

Like others, I got stuck with getting Techstream to open and recognize the connection. In the end, I found a second image of the Techstream program in the start menu. Using that second launch button, I was able to get into Techstream (ignore any prompt to add a product key) and switch over the USB preference to MVCI, which then allowed me to connect my cruiser to the Techstream app via the launch button on the virtual machine home page.
Thanks much for this post.

Just a tiny bit of disambiguation for others thickheaded like me. For those looking for the secondary launch option, use the one via the menuing system, IE Start -> Techstreatm -> Techstream. Once you change the connection method to MVCI, exit that Techstream. Then launch again using the desktop Techstream.

Can you change the maintenance date in Techstream?

Currently I have an '08 200 series and the last year that can be used is '24.

Hi guys, I have read through a fair chunk of the thread and firstly wanted to say thank you!

I am having an odd issue though. I can only start the VM in safe mode.

I am running it on a dell win11 laptop and have enabled all virtualisation settings in the eufi BIOS on the host. I had to install VS sudio redistributable and python etc all went well. Even in safe mode I was able to go into the VM as administrator and was able to test the cable connection fine, I just cant get the damn thing to boot up in normal Windows :)

Anyone able to help here? I have tried to find an error in Virtual box, but couldn't see anything that jumped out (like the virtualization settings issue posted a couple of pages back.)

EDIT# I got it to work after deep diving on the virtualization layer in Windows. Ended up having to download the DG_Readiness tool and had to run it in powershell by navigating to the directory (within PS) and running the command ./DG_Readiness_Tool_v3.6 -Disable -AutoReboot once I did that I was greeted with a couple of screens after BIOS I disabled everything.

This was AFTER attempting to disable core isolation etc from other walkthroughs

I am running Techstream on a 64 bit windows 7 laptop. I have installed all of the software successfully and have been able to get my 2001 LX470 to connect by using the 65 bit driver. However, when I get to the menu to select the vehicle model code, the screen gets locked and then flashed the choices momentarily and shuts down. Any ideas on what may a cure might be?

Turn Off Wifi and try again. 65 bit driver?

Good to know. The Techstream process has been a little frustrating. I have tried a 32 bit windows 7 machine, a 64 bit windows 7, a newer Intel Mac, 2 cords and this is the closest I have been to making it work. If I can just troubleshoot this last challenge I think it will work but I am out of ideas
