Do any of you that purchased a cable recently have recommendations on the cable or seller? I don't mind spending the money but want to make sure it works. I have been eyeing the VXDiag wifi on amazon but after reading through half of the 50 pages on this thread, I don't feel confident buying that. I also saw reviews saying that there is no support from the seller. Also saw a few people saying they could not get it to work.

I saw other cables which are supposedly slower than VXDiag but the seller was responsive and helped people with TS viewer. I have an 05 and 06 LX so I read that you need the 2.0.4 cable. I am mainly trying to replace my TPMS that are flashing. I prefer not to pay DT or other shops $350+

Hi riffman12! Was your vehicle choice Land Cruiser on tech stream? Same happened to me and solved by choosing same year LX 470. All ECUS but engine conectes successfully. Couldn’t find any option to connect to the 1HD FTE engine ECU but surely you’ve got a V8 if in the USA so yo shouldn’t have troubles

weird! ok I'll try that thanks

Unfortunately this didn't work. Anyone else have any idea?

My cord and techstream worked perfect with my 2000 LX, now with my 03 LC it can't connect to the individual systems.

I'm plugging it into the same OBD port under the driver side dash.

It did work for me, I’m not an expert so I couldn’t say why or what was different. Sorry I can’t help further…

ok I'm stumped. I have a cable that I used successfully with my 2000 LX470 in the past.

Now I have a 2003 Land Cruiser, and I'm getting this error once I'm all up and running:

can anyone help?
Have you tried to run health check instead of trying to connect to an individual system? My systems initially show up highlighted yellow but I just run health check and they all turn to white immediately after. Hope this helps

"Hey Team. Here is my new FOB from Lexus parts for less. The key cut does not match. What do I need to do?"

Just buying a new key fob cover off Amazon or wherever would be a lot cheaper than getting that new key cut.

So far I have two laptops, three cables and still no techstream talking to my GX. The VM works with one of my old cables but not the car. The cable in this thread isn't recognized by any laptop. One old Windows 95 or the VM on Windows 10 or 11. Old software and anti virus was a problem so I retroformatted the newer laptop to 10. Still no luck. Trying to update the driver on the VM. I feel like a barking dog that caught the firetruck. Now what? lol

Probably just need to find a gearhead teenager to help me. The only ones I know don't care about cars at all.

I am making an extra key for emergencies. Going to get the YotaMD titanium cover.

I was able to program the key to the ignition and door locks with the lock/unlock 6x.....process. Search on MUD, there was a write-up that worked for me. There is a guy on ebay out of Taiwan that cut my key with just a digital pic I sent. Local locksmiths that I called at the time all wanted 200-300 to cut and program a key to the car.

I just cannot get the cable from the OP to be recognized. With the VM it lights up red, shows up as unknown USB Device, {Device Descriptor Request Failed)

No idea how to update the VM. Went back and tried loading TS and Autokent M-VCI from disc but it still won't talk to the cable. Trying to update the driver shows is is up to date but windows stops it and reports Code 43. The cable doesn't show up in device manager as it does in videos I have watched. Just shows as unknown.

My old Win 95 won't go online for whatever reason. Wi-Fi router is too new I think but cable won't work either. The seller from Amazon tried to help via TeamViewer. That program was for older machines.

I've been trying one program at a time. Maybe I should just load everything. Can't do much worse. I only want to stop the doors from unlocking in park for my girl to drive it, stop my grinding steering wheel from moving and bleed my soft brakes.

Send link to the Taiwan person please.

KEY CUT BY PHOTO V-TYPE FLIP REMOTE FOR 2003-09 LX470 GX470 KEYLESS FOB CHIP D2 | eBay - https://www.ebay.com/itm/133946051777?hash=item1f2fce8cc1:g:26QAAOSwddNhozYj He has other options also on his ebay page. FYI, you need a master key to be able to program these copies. I remember the instructions he sent me worked for the doors but did not work to program the ignition. I found the right instructions on MUD. I sent the updated instructions to him and I believe he updated it for future customers. He was very responsive when I messaged him on ebay with any questions.

I ordered the cable online that came with a techstream version 15. I did get this error a lot. I think its the USB cable/driver not recognizing the cable. The error on the techstream help said its the cable connection. I checked to make sure its not loose on either side and it made no difference. The only thing that worked was running the driver update again and unplug usb/back in combination. Thanks to OP @getco) , the TS solution worked more consistently than the local install. Make sure you turn off the virus scan at least when you launch the tool. Make sure your laptop is NOT connected to the internet since you are turning off virus scan. I will try to document steps if it happens to me again. Good luck!!
