I can't remember if this will upgrade one of the "patched" versions but here is V15

I am curious if anyone with a '20+ GX 460 can find the adjustable turn signal flashes in their customizations. This would likely require a newer version of TS like V15.x. FSM claims adjustable 3-7 flashes but so far reports seem like option may be absent from North American market.

As long as it is the proper cable to work with Toyota/Lexus that is really all you need to be concerned about. From there you can spend extra money on the more expensive ones if you want but my $30 amazon special has been working great.

I suggest a mvci I got mine from eBay, just needs to meet the j2534 protocol. other wise doesn't really matter I run IDs,hds, tis, ista, vagcom on my 15 dollar cable but the drivers are the important part especially for the os you'll be running the program on. If you need help with some win10 drivers PM me.

Hey man thanks for the reply. I couldnt send youa PM because it says my message was inappropriate.
Anyway do you have techstream on your win10?
I have win10 and downloaded the virtual xp as well.
It would be nice to have techstream fully functional on win10.

I have v13 running on my Win10 x64 Lenovo without issue. No virtual box or anything simply because USUALLY when you buy the cable, they come with the software (from what I have seen it is usually v12.xx)

Right I think where people get themselves into trouble is when the VCI xHorse drivers don't want to work properly. I followed the instructions that came with my software and had no issues. When I was messing with it thinking that I had to do all kinds of other stuff (before I wiped and started over) that is when I was giving myself problems.

Exactly!
Thanks for the tip👍

If you are trying to sync up some new TPMS sensors, or do any custom settings (usually very limited) but find that the "button" called "utility" AND/OR "customization" is missing you might try this little workaround. I downloaded the Virtual Box with TS from OP (Thank you!) and have the Mini VCI Cable, J2534 (from amazon). I used a regular HP laptop running windows 10, but use the virtual box to run the TS software on XP. The TS version is 12 point something ... and the drivers for the J2534 are the ones that came with the Virtual Box download in the OP.

Now ... I have on 06 LC with AHC. I didn't see any options to try and customize anything or sync up some TPMS sensors etc. I was originally looking to try and get all my windows to roll down when I hold the unlock button on the key fob. When TS first opens and you connect to the vehicle (your little light on the dongle [J2534] should indicate red, not green, at least mine does) it pulls up your truck, year, and engine code. I switched my year manually to 2007 and magically the "utility" and "customization" buttons appeared for me. I am able to sync up some new TPMS sensors (I suggest not writing down the codes to each sensor and installing them first, this way you can break the tire down again an hour later and pull them out to get the codes and it gives you some additional tire swapping practice).

However, I was only able to change the door locking code so that all the doors unlock with a single click. There is nowhere to set the windows to come down when holding the unlock button down for an extended period. I see the "customization" settings and I can click on the Key Fob or Smart key option but the settings menu displays and completely blank.

Anyone know of any other workarounds to try and walk me through this to get my windows to roll down from the key fob? I had to take my other car to the dealership to get them to do this, but I don't want to pay to have it done this time around ... at least not if I don't have to.

Getting Techstream up and running can be a bit of a pain. Hopefully this helps someone get started quickly.

Step 1: Purchase an OBD-II interface. One option:
- Amazon product ASIN B06XGB714M ($20, Prime)

Step 2: Download VirtualBox for Your Operating System:
- Windows: http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/5.2.4/VirtualBox-5.2.4-119785-Win.exe
- MacOS: http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/5.2.4/VirtualBox-5.2.4-119785-OSX.dmg

Step 3: Install VirtualBox Software You Just Downloaded
- Windows: Double-Click downloaded file
- MacOS: Double-Click downloaded file, run installer

Step 4: Download TechStream Image:
- MEGA (V2! Click to download)

Step 5: Double-Click downloaded file.

Connect & Enjoy.

Edit (4/8/18): I removed the more expensive cable, as I received a new Mini-VCI cable that works 100% at 1/4 the cost.

Made an account here JUST to thank you. Now I can clear my ABS fault and make it to my race next weekend!

Hi!

My issue is that the Techstream linked in the first post doesn’t have my Cruiser. It’s a 1HD-FTE.
I tried changing region from America to Europe, but that required a key.
I had the CD years ago, but lost it, and a new PC means that I needed the download.
Techstream runs fine in the virtual machine, I just can’t find MY car....
Any help would be appreciated!

Hey - new mudder here.

For those with newer Macs with the M1 chip, Virtual Box will not run on this hardware. See this VirtualBox forum link for more details.

Other PC virtualization software might work (VM ware, etc.) but I have not yet tried.

Hello I'm trying to install techstream but the virtual box keeps giving me a error. I try to run tech stream and gives me a error.

Then in system it asks me to turn off hardware virtulaziation which I do but it doesn't let me save my changes. I've reinstall many times . Same thing keeps happening.

20? 2000, or 2020?

Are you running on 64 bit version of Windows? I am running mine on Windows 10 64-bit and upgraded at the time from 10.x to 12.x version years back with the Toyota update. It worked but I never moved beyond it because it does everything I need and is stable. Just re-programmed my TPMS sensors yesterday.
