I got it on amazon, LINK Its nice that they can be turned off individually. I would rather have gotten this one though, more power per socket and universal charging. The one i have has ports labeled as Apple and Non-apple for whatever reason, they both seem to charge my iphone and ipad fine though.

I put mine in the passenger rear quarter panel. I created a "little" panel with room for solar charge controller, fuse board & a few relays. By now I wish I had made enough room for a 12 fuse panel instead of a 6 fuse panel but it looks pretty neat (if you don't have any other stuff that you plan on mounting there such as a sub.

I installed this with a heavy set of wire going from front to back with a bigger (60A) fuse in the engine bay. Amazon.com: Blue Sea Systems AMI/MIDI Safety Fuse Block: Sports & Outdoors I mounted that one with a small tab coming off the frame just above the cruise control unit.

Thats clean! Are you running all of your accessories requiring fuses back to that fuse block? I am assuming not. I've left that area clear for my future power inverter, solar set up and perhaps sub. I do have a basic bussman 2nd aux fuse box in opposite quarter panel for my water pump and rear hatch lights.

A note to others, if you mount your block far away from where most of your devices live you will need to consider the following.

1) Wire lengths are going to be much longer than if the block was near closer to the devices.

2) A result of the above means that if you have a high draw item farther away you will need a heavier gauge wire to power it. Remember we fuse to protect the wire not the device.

Both 1&2 increase cost. So carefully consider mounting locations.

This is just for my interior lighting, water pump, 12v charger and a small inverter I have in the back. I think I picked an 8 gauge wire to go from front to back which results in about 1% loss at 20A (which is running most of what I have back there).

All my high-amp stuff (compressor, fuel powered heater) are connected in the engine bay straight to the battery with individual fuses.

I know this might sound wierd but...... has anyone thought of using a Police code 3 light controller...... I'm planning on running one for my lights and the sort on my 80 .... Planning on using the Feniex 4200 with bluetooth, just to mess with peoples heads

I love the Bussmann boxes. They are neat and waterproof. I guess I'm cheap, but I just haven't been able to swallow the price of the crimper (yet).

I doubt you'll find anyone in the states that has. Unless they are small town fire or police its considered illegal here and highly frowned upon. In most states this is considered 'impersonating a police officer' if you get caught and depending on the severity you could be looking at a felony, up to 5 years imprisonment and usually a $1,000+ fine. People report high schoolers who install strobes, sirens and PA's all the time not sure about the land down under but it seems that people don't want civilians running around pretending to be cops.

no no.... not the strobes but the controller...

This is the one i'm discussing ....

SIRENNET - Feniex 4200 Lights and Siren Controller

I've just ordered this as I do overdimensional vehicle escorting (oversize/overmass) so I have the lights to go with it.... I just meant th controller itself.... not the lights

It's capable of 17 10 amp programmable outputs...... so might be worthwhile :) And it has the bluetooth functionality too :) so you can control the lights from your phone.

I've got 3x waterproof 40A relays up front around the battery for lights/fan that are planned and 8x more in the rear (actually have use for 6x 20/30A currently, included a spare 20/30A and a 40A for future expansion). The rear also has a 75A for the Puma. I can't get pics to upload right now so here's a link to my OneDrive folder. I still need a pic of the front harness mounted. I just noticed it includes a pic of my rear passenger panel with all the color correct snap in retainers. Took a while to figure out where the various colors go.
