Any suggestions on what to use for as a replacement hood liner?

OEM the way to go? Some alternative better?

OEM looks really nice...just my 2cents

Yeah ! But according to my local dealer it wort more than 1000$ !

I went overkill and put sections of Dynamat hoodliner material underneath my old OEM hoodliner. Recommendation: Buy used OEM and consider hoodliner material.

Feel like working on an FJ is always about overkill!

Dynamat primarily for sound or heat?

Did it help? I’ve been contemplating replacing mine but I question its purpose and if it’s worth the $300 to replace one that just has a round area missing above the shroud area from belts breaking and ripping it to pieces. Is the purpose to keep heat out or absorb heat or both? What does he dynamate do? Reflect heat, absorb heat or just sound deaden...

yeah, I've been thinking about forgoing the pad. Most new cars do not have them. Can't see how heat could be worse in the 60.
Btw, 279 or less for the 60 pad (plus clips)

I had a belt tear loose and destroy my pad. I did not replace and never noticed anything crazy happen with the hood/paint/engine temps.

I pulled it off over the weekend (was droopy and warn) while I was cleaning the engine bay. Think I'm just going to leave it for now.
