sorry for a slow response, we were out backpacking. :flipoff2:

yes, my trailer is sitting on 40" tires now, so you can't really compare it to even a slightly modified one, but I am bringing it.

Steve L., I have a ton of work to the 40 and am building a swing out jerry can/gear/table carrier for this trip from scratch for the trailer, so you better get to work and be ready!

so what is the real reason besides the above? let me guess: Danise wont let you hang out with "the Turk".

She knows you'll corrupt me. Oh, and since she has taken over the Hundy, I'm not allowed to do anything to it that will make it look "not normal".

Do you know the size of the hub on Luke's swingout ? I want something different than what Kaymar has for the jerry can holders, and was hoping Luke's would work without any changes to the spindle.
Huge:p

The setup I made for the 40 uses 1.25" spindles, Lukes are 1.75" i believe.

AtoZ Fab is where i got mine, they have 1.25 and 1.5" so that should have you covered in sizes...now it just getting the right one;)

Graham...make sure you tell Matt about the trip too. i want to see his 80.

He knows about it. In fact he's probably lurking right now....

Like me, he has some hunting during that time which makes it hard. Lucky for the both of us, we made it out to Silverton/Ouray multiple times this summer, are only 3 hours from Moab, and are much closer to the HITR trail than you guys, so, we can go hit it with more ease.

I'm still on the fence, my 10 year med school reunion is that same weekend.

lol Well I'll try, it wont bee finished by any means but will be a good start. Worst case I'll just drag arse like I've done for 8 years;)

Hopefully it will be in this week... Got the front done for Ouray.

Marc, have you tried explaining that considering the friends you know, it already looks "not normal" for the time you have had it. You don't want your HDC friends making fun of your "mall Cruiser" now do you? Even the armor would be a "it's a saftey issue I am concerned for you dear" talk with her. Heck I know my sliders makes it hard for someone to put a "ding" (she would not like that) in my doors if I go to the mall. Just saying

He drives the white Honda to meetings. I'm not sure he still has a Cruiser.

I thought it was a Hundai, but I guess when you have to relinquish your Cruiser, WHO CARES what else you drive....

If she backs into a few more concrete pillars like the one from a few weeks ago I might at least be able to negotiate a proper rear bumper. I told her to hit it a little harder next time because this one could be mistaken for minor trail rock rash.

An ounce of prevention...

I talked with Robbie today and he is hoping that him and Ty and Robyn can come along as well on this trip.

well Mrs. CDan knows how to drive better and shows up more often. will we maybe see her at least?:flipoff2:

Would retrofitting her mall cruiser with a backup camera be considered an ounce of prevention?

You guys are trying to inject logic and rational thought into a situation where those concepts are not allowed. Most conversations go like this:

Me - "Dear, sliders and good bumpers cost way less than repairing the body"

Her - "If you don't take it off-road, you don't need to worry about damaging the body"

Me - "What if someone pulls out in front of you and smashes up the whole front end"

Her - "Insurance will pay for it to look 'normal' again"

And this will continue to go in circles for eternity. I've accepted reality and now I just get to live with it.

I was thinking I was going until I looked at the calendar and discovered I am in charge of the Dodge store inventory on Friday 10-5 :crybaby:
