I'll ask again...

What is the planned arrival time at the Blanding exit? I'm trying to decide if I need to take off Thursday through Monday or through Tuesday.

In other words, are we planning to exit the trail early enough on Monday so that an old guy like me can get back to the barn, get a few hours of sleep, and be relatively functional at 8AM on Tuesday morning?

If not, then I have to take another vacation day on Tuesday.

Old man such as yourself ought to take Monday off anyway. :D After doing this trail and driving home, a day to recover isn't a bad thing if you can swing it.

Will members attempt to pull their trailers on this trail?

Phil,

Bionic's trailer is Rubicon proven and he is a 40 with a family of four so he'll have to have it. Kurt Williams did this trail with the same trailer (40 tub) in the past. You may contact him to see if it's worth the trouble. IMHO, you may have a more enjoyable time not dragging the trailer around on this trail.

This is not a very tippy trail, only few spots may give you pause. In the past, an 80 with a Maggiolina RTT and a '09 4Runner with a Equipt RTT ran this trail w/o any issues.

What he said.

And Mike, a day after HITR is not a bad idea.

It sounds like an awesome trip, but I have a schedule conflict.

However, I will be expecting lots of pictures!

I really want to go to the work schedule the Lab offers salaried employees; 8x9hr days, 1x8hr Friday, and every other Friday off. Even better would be to take off every Friday if I had enough vacation. Maybe in 2013. :D

I'm going to raise the bar for you young dudes. We'll break camp by 5am on the last day, press hard to exit the trail by noon, 6 hours back to Abq should have me home between 6-8pm. A quick shower and shave and in bed by 9pm (my normal bedtime), then up at 5am and back to the grindstone by 7am.

That's the daily Baja schedule Jon had me on so it should work in Utah. :D

(The unemployed and the Government employees among us can take a more leisurely schedule if they choose.)

This looks like a great trip, I wish I could make it out. I am hoping to go for one of the big trips next year, like CM, or the next October trip.

I hope so now that you've got a lift and nice bumper. I can still use that lack of those items as excuses, even if it's not the real reason.

interested!! time off work will be easy, looking at building at least part of a home made/4x4labs rear bumper before the trip:bounce: Tired of dragging arse;)

Got to get things in order...

Do you know the size of the hub on Luke's swingout ? I want something different than what Kaymar has for the jerry can holders, and was hoping Luke's would work without any changes to the spindle.

Matt, up here in Farm, runs a 4x4 labs with supplied spindles and built a jerry can holder, and it works well.
