That's what we're all about, right! Whenever i can contribute and help someone, i do it.
Some people around us said it couldnt be done, that we were wasting our time trying to fix the BJ. Even if we couldnt make it drivable again, it felt real good to fix whatever we could fix, and spend quality time with friends and cruisers.
I'll head over to his place again, when he finds a donor cruiser. We talked about a PU body and build a UTE. We'll see.

Okay, back to Lapland Trophy day two, last bit of the trail was pretty tough, and we had to winch alot to get back to the road, or take the same trail for hours same way back. In some of the areas we just hooked up the winch lines to each other, and freespooled while the rig in front winched to the rig in front of him. Still have to be careful and the spotters have a hard time, as all the tireslashing rocks are hidden in the mud.
We call it driving "hybrid train" as the progress is mainly electrical
Would be sweet to have internal control of the freespool handle.
Last clip is washing out the undercarriage.

Updated the previous video, another clip appeared of me crossing a creek. Its a shame no video can describe the terrain and angles. well, you get the idea Now, onto the next day...

I sorted out the videos from day three, a dryer route, rocks and narrow woody spots.
Quite a slow technical trail for unlocked that took about 8-9 hours. Many get body 1/4 damage here, but i squeezed the bulky 60 through

I can't seem to get my youtube uploads working correctly, something is bugged.
So enough with the trail report, other news is handbrake needed a cruiser on her own, and after some searching, we came across this lj73, 2LT 5sp 87 model.
Pretty neat, two owners, last one had it for a year, and managed to decorate it like a Christmas tree in the front.
Feels well maintained, not that much rust, but needs a new exhaust and some attention!
Her upgrade plan is to make bumpers, sliders, OME and 33's, rear locker and front winch, new seats.
It'll be sweet tourer and wheeler dressed in yellow and black.
And since winter is coming ,I decided on a rigid SR2 30' bar for the 61.
I ordered that size because I thought it would fit nicely behind the grille, above the Toyota logo, but it takes some effort to get it in there.
I don't like the looks of light bars, but this time I put function over form.
Made a easy adjustable mount and slapped it on the bumper until I find a better way.
I must say, it really is an impressive throw and pattern from the rigid bar, love it.
Now I need a good low beam 24v upgrade!
Here's a week ago, doing a solo trip of 2500 kilometers to sign up for a ntnu university degree.

Here we go again, i im looking trough the pictures from LT 15, gotta share some of it.
Back out at fishing lake trail, this is one of the few places that the trail has a small bypass to avoid the rocks behind me. (seen in the video above, i think)
Arnes lj70 is always a sure bet. well maintained, and a skilled driver. We've been trail buddies for about ten years, and he's always had that 70. Soon there will be a kzt 3L in it.
The 61 went into zebra mode.
I'm soo glad i put in the make-shift center console with birch cupholders before the trip.
And the seats are awsome. 12h days on the trail for a couple of weeks and im still very fond of them.
And while running for supplies, i see this wierd lookin pickup. I get closer, an whaaaat! Cool!

And yeah, some carnage. Most of it on the rear section. Lower drip rail of right quarter got two dents.
Rear bumper is not really a bumper, more of a self-clearancing piece of sheet metal. and shackles, well they are still there. They got swapped for 4+ goodstuff.

Yeah... Was actually planning on selling the rear bumper and the mounts complete, AS they are rare in good condition here.
But now everything is warped back there.
I'm designing a 2.0 version of the bumper I made for the black 60, but this time there will be no bodylift and no quarter chop.
Egt, boost, oil and water temp gauges are now in house, so I need to pull turbo and mount it up when I find time.
Another tinker project is air tanks. Wondering about size... With the 24v Arb ckma, 35' tires, I need to find out what is a reasonable size.
