Yep all of the above spud, I've got holes in my roof from the factory luggage racks and it's nothing short of a miracle they didn't rust through.

Now I'm left with a short 316 screw with sikaflex coating and plastic washers all through the roof. Awesome!

There is no way it will help load sharing because it would just dent the roof so what is the benefit for drilling into a perfectly good non leaking roof?
If love to see a roof rack that I felt did not invite rust to form in the gutters or compromises the roof.
The only way I see it happening is full exo cage........

Thanks guys, I've sent Tigerz11 an email about the brackets

So still waiting for a shipping quote on those brackets, good thing though is they're only $79 for a set of 8.

Now for my bad news :bang:

One of my new (so called) heavy duty front springs dropped about an inch on the driver's side, just when I'm about to put 35's on :flush:

So I pulled the spring off and took a leaf out of a set I had lying around, took me about an hour and half and is all back level again now :p, just hope the passenger one doesn't let me down:rimshot:

Terrain Tamer from Don Kyatt in Darwin

Started fitting my DVD GPS unit with reverse camera

Got most of the way and then had to stop to go to work, got no dash but I wired up one speaker, so got the priorities right:p

I, its been awhile since I checked in on you and the Grub.. Those tires look meaty... Coming along nicely. Keep up the good work.

J
Thanks J

Yep starting to look the part, very happy

Finished installing the stereo, god I hate putting that dash back together, bloody speedo cable

Now just gotta run all these speaker wires, reverse camera and park brake activator

Looks awesome spud but why on earth did you take the whole dash apart???
No other way mate, you have to take the whole facia out to get to the screws and wiring, a real PIA

I usually just pull the dash off until it's resting on the steering wheel leaving everything still attached. It's still a PIA to play in there but at least you don't have to reconnect everything.

Yep now I understand what you mean, yeah I took the whole thing out as I wanted to change facias I found one with not as much debauchery around the hole for the stereo

I went down to my mechanics yard today and saw him fitting my tyres and to the rims and my exact words were "holy fxxx, they're fxxxing huge, no way in the world are they going to fit"

Anyway took my car down after work and here's the finished product

They fit perfectly :bounce::bounce2:, just one little hiccup the left rear rubs slightly on the exhaust, easy fix though :p

All it needs is 2" body lift, with those Kumho's, IMO. :hmm:
Thanks mate, but apparently 2 inch = too much work, so I'm going to do an inch lift first and see where that takes me.

My bullbar actually sits about an inch too high on my truck at present, so lifting it 1 inch will be spot on.

When I drove to work this morning the exhaust rubbing seemed to get a lot worse and I could actually smell the rubber burning :bang: So when I got home I put the spacers back on (temporary) actually luv the look now, the rear tyres fill the guards completely just like the front.

Once I get the brackets for the roof rack and mount the spare tyre up there, I think 35's are too big for the under body spare wheel, then I'll be able to realign the exhaust and take those spacers off :p

Hi mate what size exhaust is on a 12ht standard

Thanks mate was the original exhaust 2 1/5 inches
