Spot on mate, and that's it, sits perfect now

Just finished reading the whole thread. I've always liked the look of the old 60s but now I just gotta get me one. Those red filter spots really set the whole truck off!

Thanks for the support mate

Just lately my central locking has stopped working, sometimes a door here would work and then another door, I knew exactly what the problem was "A poor man pays twice."

When I wired up the relays in the drivers door, I just grabbed the 2 wires, twisted them and taped them up, a quick solution but it's never going to be long lasting.

So today I pulled off the door card, in preparation for my custom cards with the top of the door exposed, so I pulled all the wires apart and soldered some and placed proper joiners in the others.

Once again the door locks are just about jumping out of the door :p

So over the next few weeks, I will be making custom door cards from 4.5mm ply covered with outdoor carpet, I'm also currently waiting for amayama.com to get back to me on the 75 series weather shields.

I've also ordered some sports seats they hopefully should be here on Thursday, so I'll have to go out to the block and find some seat rails. I want to get the OEM seats repaired and put some new foam in them.

So busy couple of weeks coming up

Today I made a start on making custom door trims, I was able to source a 2400 X 1200 sheet of 3mm ply for nicks(gotta luv that :p) so it's basically the same size as the standard door card material.

First thing I removed the material from the old door card, I found that if you use that as a template it fits perfectly at the top and doesn't leave a gap.

So I traced around the old card

Then cut it out with a jigsaw, I also marked every hole with a pen as well

I then drilled all the holes and cut out all the sections again with the jigsaw

Then glued the outdoor carpet, which is exactly the same as the factory carpet

To hold the door card to the door I drilled 9.5mm holes thru the card and then used scrivets (courtesy of GoldChaser, thanks mate) and all back together :p:D

I gotta admit it looks smicky smoo, top of the wazza :bounce::bounce2:

3 more to go

Did the passenger door today, I can't believe what I did, I looked at it, checked it and then stuck the carpet on the wrong side, a real pain in the arse to get it off, anyway all good in the end

Looks rippa might have to steal that idea as my door cards are getting a bit sad

I just used that bear brand adhesive, I've just ordered some spray on adhesive, should be a lot easier than trying to cover it with a spatula

Sports seats arrived today, now just gotta go and find an old single passenger seat to take the feet off, the new seats come with rails so I'm gonna just use the the feet, weld some flat steel across the feet and then bolt them to the seat, I'll put up some pics once I start.

I'll also see if I can a engineers certificate, although don't really need it as we don't have annual inspections here.

Finished another door today

One door to go and all done

Thanks J

Today I put the passenger side sports seat in using the feet off the existing rails, all went except I nearly set the carpet on fire :bang: Tack welding the brackets in place.

I apologise for the iPhone photo, you know they call these things smart phones, but if they were so fxxxing smart then they'd know it needs more light :p I'll take more photos tonight

Finished putting in my sports seats today

All good and a lot more comfy than the OEM flat seats
