What are you're thoughts on the roof rack type channel things on your roof spud? Keeping them on?

Geez that grill and light surround looks great mate, i think ill do mine the same way!! my chrome ones are pritty crap at the moment!

Nice!!

Hey Jesse

I still have a couple of can of plasti dip in the shed, didn't even think about that.

I think I'll leave my roof gutters as is, I've never seen a 60 without them either.

Strick

Thanks for the comments mate, yep it came up better than I expected, although it would have been nice to be able to get those indicators in clear :bang:

Go the GRUB

Gday mate, cool photos. I'm a very proud owner of 60 hj61gxl for over a decade. Last of the tough trucks. Ive decided rather than upgrade the 60 deserves a make over never let my down. Good oil, air filters (ive always used foam two part air filter and clean diesel. Motor still same torque today as 10 year ago.

Still driving 60 as daily driver so hard to fix on the go. I have few 60 bits and pieses u could use. I doing my best to gather bits and pieses for my makeover.
:electric switches for windows.
: need new seats, not sure of good seat to suit 60
:twin tanks or 1 big 1./wheel carrier
:factory fibre glass flares.
:cargo barrier.
: oil pressure concern when hot ( slowly drops as oil gets older
Have set of superior extended shackles u could use.watch your castor angle.

Yeah nah the gutters are all good, I meant the chrome strips on top of the roof. I'm going to take mine off next weekend and see what the go is with them because they just scream rust trap. This weekend is new rotors, studs, bearings, pads all round and calliper kit....see if I can squeeze that all in tomorrow.

Hey Josh and Jodie

Welcome to the Mud House,

Thanks for the kind words and offer of parts, I'm pretty good for parts at the moment.

You need to start a thread and show your truck off.

Btw whereabouts are you?

Sorry mate, I thought that's what you meant.

My chrome strip feel fairly solid so I'm going to leave them on, none of the roof rust actually touch the rail so hopefully all is good under there:cheers:

You're doing a bit of work on your truck so it's about time you showed it off in a thread :D

Grill looks great! Can't go wrong with some black Krylon spray paint and a Cruiser!

Thanks for the comments John

Sometimes it's just the most simple things that look the best :D

I had a couple of spare hours today before dark, so I thought I'd paint my alloy bull bar with plasti dip ( thanks to Crick for reminding me)

Looks 200% better than boring old alloy! I left that little bit for the number plate and I'm going to cover the side steps in black anti slip tape.

It's coming along:D

Yeah I'll have to start a thread on the old girl when I start on the respray or maybe the cargo area upgrade. Can't decide if I should turbo the 2H either. Probably not too far away.

The bar looks awesome! You know it's hot when you've got a fan outside. STRAYA!

Found this little gem the other day.

Hi,

That plasti dip is a very usefull product.Honestly i had never ever heard talking about it.Looks nice on the bull bar.No 5 poster??:grinpimp:

Greets

Thanks guys for the support

Yep the fan points towards the red chair, my smoking chair :grinpimp:

That SWB looks alright, the price is not too bad.

Yeah that plasti dip has only recently starting to be used more and more, I actually have it on my wheels on my 200 series for about the last 8 months and I've had no problems with it at all.

They say you just use a high pressure hose and it'll come off, hope I remember that after a big day out :bang:

 Spudman

Had a couple of spare hours after work today and decided to fit the front flares, these flares are like arseholes in Australia everyone's got one :D (sorry couldn't help myself)

So once I fitted up the flares then I could put the bull bar scrub bars and side steps in place to put on the vehicle, as it's one piece it's a PIA :bang:

Coming along nicely I think

That is indeed a rediculous construction.you need 3 persons to put it on?? My TJM scubbars are detachable so i can mount and demount them all by myself.
But it is coming along nicely i see:popcorn:

Greetings

How many coats did you put on? Ive read about guys putting it on wheels but not on something that will get scratched and dinted etc when 4wding.

Would normal paint be better?

Only ask as im about to buy a bullbar that needs a paint job and would like to paint my chrome like yours!

Hey Sved

Yeah I was going to cut the scrub bars off and use some brackets, but I don't know where you buy those type of brackets as they are not just your garden variety fence post brackets :bang:

Lucky it's alloy:D

Mate

I put 2 coats on it and it's very strong, the good thing with this stuff is that if you get a stone chip or 2 you just heat it up and move it around and the hole is gone, this stuff is stronger than normal paint but not as strong as powder coat :D
