Nice pictures! Always amazing how trail wheeling always flexes the suspension further then ramping.

Maybe a trip to Bald mountain after Xmas is in order. Any more details on that trip?

I may have missed this, what are your plans for the front fenders, Dusty?

im going to be at shaver through the xmas weekend with the lexus-going up un xmas eve. the day after xmas i will be wheeling on the mountain and likely the day after that also-its snowing up there right now:). ill likely be bored playing with barbies and innertubes with the girls between wheeling expeditions. if any will be up at shaver durring the weekend to wheel or just want to see the truck and hang out give me a pm and ill give you my cell and directions. if you have a wife and little kids please bring them along as a diversion. it will make things easier if we arn't just messing with the trucks. our familes/wives can talk and stuff inside the cabin and this will make it look like a friend of mine and his family that are just passing by vs. "one of your boyfriends from mud" wrenching again

seriously i would love a visit from you guys. the cabin is on some land and if your truck is in need of repair or you need to leave it for a few days you can bring it by. but i dont have many tools up at the cabin yet. does have 220v however. i may bring the welder/plasma

I'm not so sure what's so hard about a cut and turn

It seems to me it's pretty much an excercise in patience and brute force...two things you don't often associate with each other

i hate work that involves torches or large ammounts of pressure/presses.

working on that now. i already spoke with linex here in town and if im lucky the fenders will be trimed and coated before xmas

and now the tech.
my truck dont stop
thinking of one of these. ben at slee suggested this as well as several other great ideas (thanks ben)

Easiest way to plumb would likely be to cut off the fitting on your current lines and reflare with a standard thread fitting, as long as 3/16" tube fits that master. (3/16 is a close enough match to the metric tube Toyota uses).

All you need is larger bore M/C to match the larger bore of your 1Ton brakes, doesn't matter whether it is a chevy or Toyota one. I want to say the largest Toyota bore I've heard of is around an inch. A buddy runs a E350 van master on the buggy below with a D60/14b, stops great.

That adapter plate looks pretty simple. Don't need CNC to make that. Still, $95 isn't bad.

Let us know how it works.

thanks man you've been a big help. that is a sick jeepish like thing. lots of those e350 MC conversions on pirate

anyone know what lines from the chevy master go to which lines on the yota master? can someone spoon feed me please?

Downey Off-Road sells a 1-1/16th Toy MC that bolts right on...I have it. It definitely pushes much more fluid, and just took a little massaging of the hard-lines to get them screwed in.

i called and spoke at length with downey about this MC
Downey Off-Road

it is off a one ton t100. an actaul asain/toyota part. great price too. only problem is that according to the tech guy at downey the t100 mc is only 1 1/16 whereas the 80 series mc is just slightly smaller at 1". the tech didn't think i would see much diff with the downy MC. he suggested i block off the port on the 80 series mc where the abs line returns to the MC. after i block off the ABS return line I can reevaluate my situation.

anyone know which line on the MC i should block off to disingage the ABS.
i just want to toss all that abs assembly mess and have one line from the MC to the rear brakes and one line on the MC to the front brakes. simple. if i can get it figured out to this point i can easily go with the gm MC if needed.

I did this on my 80.

I basically got rid of the ABS box and ran the lines back onto each other so the entire hydraulic system is enclosed. I used the same OEM 3-way underneath the MC and for the two lines running to the rear and got rid of the LSPV. I have a manual LSPV that I am going to eventually install inside of the engine bay by the MC on the firewall and it has 10mm metric fittings to boot!

Onur...Rubithon '09 get the 80 ready and make it out, or plan on being there some how bro, you can't just do SnT, that's not even a trail. I see all these pics of your rig with all these upgrades and I want to see it wheel.

ok i just finished turning the pinion down so the pinion flange and the tcase flange are parallel and no vibration at 60mph

but there is another problem. the d60 in front has made this horible grinding sound from day one when coasting. its in the diff somewhere. at first i thought it was in the knuckles like if one of the axleshaft yokes was hitting the inner c. i thought this because when the axle was up on stands and the shafts were in i could feel a little bind at a certain spot when the shafts were turned. even when the lockers were locked. so a checked the c's and its not the yokes. with the axles are locked i can put either shaft in and get some of the same bind.

again i only get the sound when coasting. i can be accelerating at 60mph and the axle is smooth as glass but when i coast i get this nasty sound.

nelson, the guy who set up the axles thinks it may be the spider gears in the d60 arb but why is the noise there when the axle is locked if this is the case?

the noise is there without the front drive shaft too. the pumpkin doesn't get hot after a highspeed run

it doesn't bother me so much when wheeling in low range because im going so slow but i want to go fast. dont wat to trailer her now that the vibration is gone

if i cant figure it out im going to have the axle tore down and start over

did he set the gears up tight? it may take a lil more break-in for the gears and bearings to quiet down.

i took my cruiser to nelsons shop today. he ttore the front end all the way down and reassembled. front end is much quieter now but still a little noise under coast especially above 40mph. im not worried. going wheeling day after xmas on bald mtn.

these pics are inside nelsons shop
