Good Day Mudders-

In order to make a long story short, I'll say that I had to repo my FJ60 from a former mechanic who has been stealing money and selling parts off of customers rigs. It came back with some missing parts.

I now have my rig with another mechanic and we are putting things back together. We got to the transfer case and notice that there were some bolts missing (no big deal) and that the existing gaskets had been ruined. Those things were handled no problem.

Further in, we notice that there was a hole in the top of the case that had no parts match in our inventory.

Can someone help me with the part names/numbers needed to complete the rebuild? See the pictures below for the "hole" in question.

I have looked at some microfiche parts diagrams and have had some trouble discerning things.

Thanks so much!

it's been awhile, but I'm thinking it is a detent ball,

Plug: 90341-15001
Spring: 90501-16115
Ball: 90360-10003

Looks like the high-neutral-low shift crank is also missing.

Also, it appears they either attempted to or did in fact split the case. Before you sink too much into tracking down the exterior parts that are missing, I'd open it up and see if he stole any internal parts too. For example gears, shafts, shift forks, collars, etc. The rear cover doesn't appear to have been taken off so I doubt they successfully split it but I'd check before getting too far down the repair path. Fortunately new and used complete cases are easy enough to source. That is an early case & 4spd... now is also a great time to do a 5-speed swap :D

The guy's name is Chad Higgs; he is out of Ft Worth and his company is TX LS Solutions. Stay far away from him if he ever resurfaces.
Hopefully he's financially buried for the rest of his natural life if he's been scamming people like that.

Come to think of it, I wonder if he's subject to criminal charges. I would be interested to see if what you posted is just the least of what he's done.

Seems like he's got a handful of folks really upset:

What he did to me is the tip of a very large iceberg, it turns out. There are 3 known criminal investigations into the guy and I've heard stories of people losing $4-80k when you consider deposits being made and stolen, parts being sold, and cars going missing. It's a total s-show.

More fun...the bastard took the bellhousing off the transmission, so I'm now getting that AND THE INSPECTION COVER replaced. I'm actually on the phone with Cruiseroutfitters now...the inspection cover is a problem to source.

What a circus.

Is it a 3F bellhousing? If so I have an inspection cover I won't be using.

It is a 2F bellhousing from an 83. Not sure if the holes line up. I super appreciate the reply and will be investigating fit, but I’m afraid matching these bits is very new to me.

I know this may sound like an odd part for your transfer case, but I have a sniper rifle (suppressed) you could borrow if needed?

do you have the flywheel and all associated hardware?
what is holding up the rear of the engine?
do you have the trans crossmember?
