Hi all,

Can the transmission/transfer case equalizer hose kits help when gear oil is migrating from the transmission to the transfer case? Has anyone successfully used the hose kit as a band-aid fix to remedy this specific problem?

I know this topic has been discussed a lot. However, having read through many of the previous discussions on it I cannot find a clear conclusion on whether the hose can work in this specific scenario or not.

I made one out of some simple amzon products. It has been a long term bandaid for me. Still going strong until I can find time to get my trans and case rebuilt.

If it's going from transmission to transfer don't think it will help. The transfer fill port is lower than the transmission so it can't flow back up hill

X2 it is unusual for the trans to be filling the transfer
it will need to be taken apart and fixed.
thinking maybe the oring on the idler shaft??

mine leaked from TMS to TRF for 30 years and the only way to adjust the oil levels periodically is to drain the TFR and top off the TMS manually.
I could tell when the oil levels weren't right by the way the TMS shifted and by the way the TFR sounded.
