HELP PLEASE! I'm stuck in the wilderness with a dead fxj80 (1 Viewer)

CPS is internal to most fuel injected vehicles distributors, external to COP systems. It's generally a photo sensor type setup.
Negative on the photo sensor. Electromagnetic sensor on an FZJ80.

That's why I made it a generality, it's electromagnetic on jeep inline 6's also, but I can name a number of others that use a photo cell and disk type setup also. Point is: there is a CPS and in the case of the later 1FZ setups a CPK also.

I have no technical help but I do have some practical help: Slow the F#$% Down!!

I could grab dinner with the wife and then pack a few things. Just take one or two trucks. I can throw all my tools in one of the trucks. Just throwing it out there.

I didn't want to drive because I could use the drive time for dedicated Wits' End crap :p

This is outstanding of you to offer to do this Joey.

I can't wait for that Atticus to come on and say how you are just doing this for your own personal gain. I swear I will punch him if he does.

Sorry for the hijack OP. Good luck. You have some incredibly smart individuals on here helping you. Listen to them and follow their advice and this will get resolved. I repeat LISTEN TO THEM AND FOLLOW THEIR ADVICE!

Good luck!

I wanna say that coil pack doesn't show voltage or energize unless it's running and signaled to, I'm not a electrical expert by any means but I don't see a coil pack going bad from a hard hit, to me I would think it's something more finicky... something plastic, cold weather where you are at?

Who is Atticus?

I think I should get bonus points for not telling the OP to check his head gasket... :flipoff2:

FWIW, I'm going with "it's his fusible links or the wiring harness by the EGR"

No more road trip for the SoCal boys I guess?

@bryanb I hope you get your issue resolved before the Wx rolls in....

This is why iH8mud!

OP seems to have it under control.

There's a saying I like that applies here. "For those whose only tool is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail". And since 3FE's only weapon is "slow", the 3FE shill always chimes in with "slow" as the answer... ;)

Looks like OP lucked out, weather report doesn't seem to be accurate(what's new) and the nasty stuff went past him to the north.

Did you not see my 0-60 video?!?! My 3FE is practically, dare I say, "peppy". Actually right there with the 1FZ-FEs...

The nice thing about cruising along slower is that you can enjoy life. Or in the case of 1FZ-FE owners, obsess about your coolant temps and impending HG failure and replacement. :flipoff2:
