That's why I made it a generality, it's electromagnetic on jeep inline 6's also, but I can name a number of others that use a photo cell and disk type setup also. Point is: there is a CPS and in the case of the later 1FZ setups a CPK also.
Possible you broke your rotor inside the distributor? Only 3 screws to check...

This would not explain the lack of spark at the coil that the OP posted on page 1.

I could grab dinner with the wife and then pack a few things. Just take one or two trucks. I can throw all my tools in one of the trucks. Just throwing it out there.
I didn't want to drive because I could use the drive time for dedicated Wits' End crap

I wanna say that coil pack doesn't show voltage or energize unless it's running and signaled to, I'm not a electrical expert by any means but I don't see a coil pack going bad from a hard hit, to me I would think it's something more finicky... something plastic, cold weather where you are at?

Did you not see my 0-60 video?!?! My 3FE is practically, dare I say, "peppy". Actually right there with the 1FZ-FEs...
The nice thing about cruising along slower is that you can enjoy life. Or in the case of 1FZ-FE owners, obsess about your coolant temps and impending HG failure and replacement.
I started to watch, but fell asleep during the intermission.
