Guys,

I am hoping to start the install of my newly built 2F motor (w/ 3spd transmission) this coming weekend into my 1970 40. I am going to make one final order and was hoping you guys could give me some advice as I would like to have everything I need for this weekend.

I bought the complete engine rebuild gasket kit, as well as a new clutch, pressure plate, bearing etc.

My new order list thus far for Dan is:

Wires
Cap
Rotor
Fuel Filter
Coil
Clutch Alignment Tool
Bell Housing Bolts
Flywheel Bolts
Pressure Plate Bolts

Is there a distributor O Ring?

I didn't pull the motor so I don't know which bolts I have and which I need, so would rather be safe than sorry. Anything else anyone can recommend?

Thanks for you help. It is greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Jonny

is the exhaust on? how about intake man? water pump?

for the int/exh (a donut if needed) and gasket, manifold bolts or studs

gasket sealer

new mounts and do you have all the mount bolts?

speedo cable

parking brake cable

throttle and choke cable

is the same engine going in? if this is a new 2f install going in the place of a 1f check this out

No, only the head and block are attached on the engine stand. Nothing else has been put on yet. The rebuild kit should have all my seals/gaskets I need...

I bought new mounts, but did not purchase the bolts. I will add that to my listed.

Is there a reason for replacing all the cables? Do they get "stretched" over time or what is the benefit to replacing? I ask because I don't know, not because I disagree with you...

Yes, it is the same engine. However, the PO pulled it so I don't know what is there and what isn't...

I just ordered a used stock exhaust for it, minus the muffler...

Thank you for your response.

Along with the flywheel bolts, I ordered the three "keepers" that go between the bolts and the flywheel. You bend up the tabs and they lock the bolts in place. Kind of belt-and-suspenders but I like the piece of mind. They were used on F motors, but I put them on my 2F and no issues with clutch interference.

since this engine is going "back in" not going in for the first time you should not have any cable issues

no reason to change em I was just suggesting things to check to make sure you are good on all those things to avoid any hang ups since you had pretty much already covered everything you need in your post

as for the word "Final", this should always be in quotes in this section or any other dealing with Cruisers.......the projects seem to never end.......

Good luck with the engine!

Get a new imput seal for the transmission.

Thank you guys for your responses. I have placed my final order (for this week at least ;)) so hopefully I will have enough parts to get this thing back together.

Jonny
