I'd have it fixed, so long as the core is fine. The local shop here would charge less than $100. I had my original rear heater core repaired for $80. It's worth calling around.I made more progress today.
Finished removing the top.
Removed the front seats.
Removed the tranny hump, which was held in with 4 of the original 12 bolts.
Was then able to remove the PTO winch gear case and the adapter.
I need the sleeve, washer & lock nut. (If anyone has spares, please let me know.)
I also snipped off the coolant hoses that were in the cab. (The rear heater is long gone.) Made a coolant and gear oil mess all over the floor.
Discovered I need a new radiator because my overflow tube is broken at the radiator neck. D'oh!! Any radiator recommendations, please let me know.
I pulled the radiator. Gonna have Ace Radiator give it a look. Might be fixable. Might not be worth fixing.
Has anyone bought a new OEM radiator recently? Camelback Toyota says OEM Toyota radiator NLA. I've also heard that they are available. So I'm confused.
I reached out to Beno on the issue. He's traveling now. I hope to hear from him soon.
Anyone tried the CCOT unit?
Any other suggestions?
Alfred
The OEM unit is definitely available, but for some strange reason the system has a hard time tracking the superscessions. I got the pn from beno.
FWIW, radiators don't travel well. So if you can buy it locally, I'd suggest making an exception to supporting a MUD vendor on this one.
