1:00pm SUNDAY AUGUST 7, 2016

@roadstr6 (Dave R) has graciously offered to host a HAMOM on SUNDAY, August 7. Final approval on times, work to be done, etc will all be Dave's. He has a great place in the southeast Charlotte/Weddington/Waxhaw area. Lots of trees can provide shade over that ample paved space, he has an open bay in the garage in the event of rain, and he has a well stocked tool chest. We'll message the address to anybody who plans on attending rather than posting it here.

Food plans will be determined by amount of attendees, amount of work and weather. That means we either do potluck & grill or we order pizzas/wings/giant sub/etc.

Please post up any interest you have in attending and any work you might want to perform. Helpers and observers are welcome, too!

In no particular order of importance:
1. Johnvee - 80 radiator & nearby parts swap, broken bolt extractions, drill and tap large metal parts
2. Forrest5000 - Lift BJ73 or PM Lexus
3. ? IzzyandSue - nobody knows what he'll break next
4. PKNiland (Patrick) - roof rack install
5. ? Trapper - FIXED already!
6. ? Payara Offroad - snorkle install, engine codes

If you plan on doing work on your vehicle, please supply your own expendables (rags, cleaners, fluids, etc). Also keep in mind that Dave's place is very clean and ONSC would like it to stay that way. I will probably be able to provide lots of cardboard for a cushiony experience while laying down and to prevent staining.

Putting it on the calendar to possibly attend as wife and youngest daughter will be in CA.....no needs and probably won't be in a cruiser as i'm driving up from SC.

Looks like its non-event Sunday for me, planning on being there. Done the radiator before John, can help with it. And will bring tap and die set. I have one or 2 sheared bolts too, come to think about it.

Just found out , I can make it. Would like to put lift on 73 or just pm to the LX .

My kids get back from a weeklong summer camp the day before so I will likely be spending some quality time with them that day. If I can slip away for a few hours, I'll come over to lend a hand and observe. Come to think of it, I have some bolts I've been meaning to drill out for a few years.

I plan to offer up my 120V Hobart welder for any small jobs that anyone may need done. By small, I mean .25" thickness or less and no structural components. The baby Hobart is a fine little mig but it has its limits. I have a couple of floor jacks and an assortment of jack stands. Also, air tools, impacts, etc. For anyone interested in a quick how-to lesson on paint correction, I'll be glad to help you get started. Kids are welcome. I would just ask that parents keep an eye on them and keep them clear of the work area if something dangerous is going on (welding, trucks falling off jacks, etc.). My kids will be there. The yard is kid-friendly with plenty for them to do.

Can we use that to rig some Frankenstein type experiments on John Vee?

Currently trying to sort out a P0401 code. The EGR system has been throwing the code off and on for years. If I haven't figured it out/fixed it by the time the 7th rolls around, I might need a hand.

Question, is this invitation open to non-members "yet" also? Monthly meeting I am out of town.

sorry guys I will be snorkeling in Puerto rico that week

Yes, I'm sure you are welcome to come out and wrench on your cruiser with us that day. I think the rules for non-members are that they must bring a six pack of craft beer to share. ;)

Ya know, not being a beer drinker puts me at a distinct disadvantage. ;)

Stan,

In the little town where I grew up it was customary to say, "Drink you a beer...be somebody!" I have been lots of people. It's not too late for you to be a person too.

Sounds like a plan. Thanks!!!!

For those bringing trucks to work on, I recommend you wash them first, power wash if needed, to not track any extra dirt to our wonderful host's home. Also so I don't get my expedition approved formal outfits dirty.

Seriously, makes working on nuts and bolts a lot easier.

Guys, my garage area is not THAT clean! Don't go raising expectations, Izzy or you will force me to have to go out there and tidy things up beforehand. :bang:
