Lexus has released their official Pricing and Specs for the GX550, the twin LC250 should share many of the specs, but at a lower price point.

Interesting that the curb weight is basically exactly the same as the LX, and even with the detuned engine by 60hp it beats it 0-60 by half a second, and gets worse MPG than the LX. I'd be surprised if they don't add the hybrid on the LX next year

Like it or not, this is the direction that all new vehicles are headed. I don't disagree with you, but at the same time there's no point fighting what's already happened. For what it's worth - according to the Lexus GX builder, the 550s are certified as a ULEV70 vehicle, whatever that means. I don't think the 1UR comes anywhere close.

Outside of the motor, the 550 offers quite a few things that I'd like that the 460 that I purchased didn't have the option to have. All for relatively incremental cost increases all things considered..
 
The spec sheet verifies fuel capacity (same as 300 series) and thus my earlier range calcs for the GX.

Still awaiting verification that the TH shares this same fuel tank and that 27 mpg combined holds up with EPA; I expect so.

Relative to the 200, the GX's smaller tank and poor efficiency gains yield less range.

At 27 mpg, even equipped with a 14 gallon tank, the turbo hybrid's range would still best that of the GX.

Good thing the GX550 has good looks…. Yall acting like they put a RAV4 engine in it
 
Our local dealership just updated us that first shipment has been delayed from February to April and he's telling us to prepare for it to really be May/June. I guess the rumored delay is a real thing. And the waiting list is over 270 people at this local dealership, this thing is going to be very popular it seems.

Toyota hasn't removed the 27mpg from everywhere: https://www.mariettatoyota.com/2024-land-cruiser/

I don't see anything on TNGA-F with less than 21 gal fuel tank. Probably fair to assume then the range of the 2024 LC at (27*21=567 miles). This exceeds that of the 2024 GX (17*21=357) by quite a bit (not to mention the 200 series).

So then, does it make sense that when they add a hybrid to the GX that'd get the GX to 22 MPG combined like the Tundra? And therefore a range of 22*21 = 462 miles of range? That's still 100 short of the 2024 LC.

I was talking about the top end LX600 needs the 3.4 hybrid from the Tundra and Sequoia, to differentiate it from the GX550. I'm certain the GX will get the same 2.4t hybrid of the LC250.

I'm happy this TNGA platform is allowing Toyota to have a slew of BOF options (instead of them all being killed off), but there is some questionable overlap in models like the GX/LX and the new 4runner/LC250

I'm certain that the GX is only going to get the 2.4t hybrid from the LC250. Unless they drop the LX from the lineup, they're not going to put a far more powerful drivetrain in the lower model. They are already sandbagging the 3.4t in the GX550 by 50hp versus the LX600 to add some differentiation.

I'd put my money on the GX hybrid being the 2.4L hybrid max not the 3.4L for a few reasons:

There's no hybrid LC300/LX600. I doubt Toyota would let the GX550 significantly out perform a LX600 for 1/3 less price.

The GX will likely remain AWD and I think that rules out the TTV6 hybrid. All TTV6 hybrids so far have the 10.5" rear axle and borg warner transfer case. I don't think the Aisin awd transfer case is strong enough for that powertrain, and I don't think Toyota has any other transfer cases with a center diff that are strong enough. I don't have any direct information, but I think that's why the Tundra and Sequoia have the heavier duty transfer case that lacks awd. And I doubt that toyota would sell a GX without AWD.

Those two things point me toward the T2.4 being the hybrid powertrain for both the LC300 variants and the GX/LC250.
