I'd like to use the original style ground straps on the FJ40 and FJ25. Does anybody know what length the originals were and where they were located? I know one attaches to one of the starter bolts and then to the frame, but I'm not sure where on the frame. I'm also unsure about the neg strap from the battery. Where does it attach to the frame?

i've got a wider ground strap than what annie originally had, iirc, it was about a 1/4" and bolted under the brake junction. the battery ground is attached at the upper battery tray mounting bolt

Checked the only one I have easy excess to, my early 61 FJ40. The starter is a later one and no grounding strap anymore. The battery strap is still the original. It bolts to the battery bracket where it mounted to the frame just like the picture Ige posted. I'll check my white 25. That's the next easiest to get to.

My white 25 still has both straps. The starter is the same as Ige. The battery strap attaches to the frame just in front of the splash panel that is behind the battery.

Hi, just wondered where you ordered your straps from. My poor truck is presently sporting what looks like a piece of old bicycle lock cable for a ground strap.
