It is brakes for the front axle. rear tires spin, but goes nowhere... this locks up the front end.

As far as the dual tanks, I will go check those out in a few.
As far as price... I don't want to tell you all what I paid. But I think I got a good deal.
I just noted the "swinging beverage holder" on the driver's door - Sweet!
I have seen those hydraulic levers on Air Force bomb lift trucks. In the extended position (as shown) they release the brakes. You apply the brake and push the lever to one side or the other, and it is a hydraulic line lock.
I guess this means the hydraulic fluid from the front brake goes into the cab and back out.
Pretty cool. Seems like a lot of work for the PO, but maybe he liked to do burnouts with his 40.....

Ya! there is one on the pass side too. Needs allot of work, today, I am putting the fenders off the parts rig onto this one... after I take my 2 year old for a ride in this fun ride... test it out completely. I feel like a pilot with all the gadgets... I have all the pictures of the parts rig, but my boy wants to go for a ride now...

Took the fenders off before parking it in the back 40.
Floors look good... rear is rotted. Fenders perfect for my other rig

Yes it does... It was half @$$ welded to a 45 degree shelf unit and bolted to the old fender I removed today.
Today, I removed the old right fender that had been cut because I'm not really into that look. I replaced it with the right fender from the parts cruiser after painting it. I still have to massage it a little more to get it completly lined up... but its close enough for now.

I also fixed the bezel for tha nazi's out there. I've never recieved a new cruiser with a correct bezel. I think to date, I've spent 1 hour fixing bezel's. Another reason to swap fenders is to get the old blinker style back... I cant stand what is there. It's all coming off... half thrown together front bumper.

In one of the first pictures you had a photo of the fillers for the gas tank and the front one had a door on it. Was that added later, I thought they were on later models and not as early as 72, but I could be wrong. Just wondering.

That brake lever is a "mico lock" and an anchient one at that.
The lever is attached to a cam that closes a valve in the brake line. A check valve alows for apply but not release. (at least not right away) A decent way to have a very strong parking brake. Some people will put them on the front axle if they deal with slippery boat ramps. Keeps the vehicles from sliding on wet ramps with only the rear brakes active.
