Cleaned up the 2 year dirty interior today.

- Need to replace seats (anyone have any?)
- Also have some saab seats... free if anyone wants to pick up.. heated I think

So far, I dont think I need anything else but seats on the interior. I have a choke cable.

Here are some more pictures.

Mikesta,

Congrats on your new 40, your new fenders look good by the way. You may want to move that RMP redline a little below 5500 (unless you have had some enginge work done of course). I keep redline indicator set at 3200 but, I know many who run theirs a bit higher than that. Not exactly sure of the factory redline, I thought it was 3500. In an event Welcome to the 40/55 section.

congrats! 1 for 1.. good odds if you ask me. So far, I am 0 for 5.

Today, got a little done on this sweet ride. Took off the bumper with the JIMBOB welding contraption on it. Hack Job.... slapped another ugly bumper on the rig and wrapped the winch cable around it till I can figure out how to the the winch cable pulled out. Going to throw that cable crap away and go with nylon.

Finished puting a few things on the right fender and cleaned up shop. I have around 8 projects going simutaniously. Ack.

- Need to bleed breaks
- Need to crash into Bull's house and get a metal plate welded on a hole/crack? in the block... basically need a second opinion.
- Need to put correct tire pressure in tires
- Need to take off the top
- Need to cut off the JIMBOB roll bar tape job and replace with real padding
- Need to get 2 quarter/side panels and repair
- Need to get the door drip panel and weld it.
- Need to replace the left fender
- Need to install both front blinkers
- Need to put the rear lights back to stock
- Need seat appolstered.
- Needs paint

Other than that, its a $10,000+ rig... maybe more.. I think I'll just take the top off repair the crack in the block and bleed the breaks and call it good for a couple weeks.

I will post a few pictures of the new JIMBOB bumper tomorrow.

I stopped by Mikesta's today....and have to say his herd his looking pretty strong these days...I even got to hear the 40 roar by way of cell phone.

Here are a few pictures of yesterday's mod. Its a bumper... and the old bumper.

I'm so happy that I didn't have to grind anything to get the old one off.... Just 6 bolts and off with the old, on with the new.

You will see some lean. The right rear tire is in a hole.

Landpimp's replacement is here.

The way you would know if the bezel is upside down is that the bottom would be on the top, if the top is on top then it is installed correctly, if the bottom is on the bottom then it is installed correctly as well, but any way you look at it if the top is on the bottom, it's not installed correctly......I love this, Finally got my turn !!!!!

Took the top off this morning then went over to Bull's house today. Test drove his 45 Long bed truck... We talked about this old lady that has 20 acres and raises cattle. One day soon, the city will put a stop to that. Drove back to bull's house and found a different type of herd. Cruiser herd. There were about 5-7 grazing within his fence. He feeds them well.

We looked at the leak in the block. It looks like someone welded a metal plate over the block and not is worked loose. We didn't touch it as we need to pull the header and manifold off with the left fender off to get at it with another patch. I drove the rig 12 miles each way and each way it used about a half gallon of water. Good rig for around town.

Got home, checked the water. 1/2 gallon emptied out.

Took the doors off went out and got some gas It took 12 gallons... is that all this tank holds?

Got back and pulled the doors off and stripped the blue JIMBOB hack job padding off.

Here are some picks.

one with the blue glue gone. There was some wet padding and some rust on the bar. What do you guys use for padding on these puppies and how do you keep the bars from rusting?

Noob rookie 40 owner. This 40 is a lots of fun.

At around 45 its got some good wobble. Is this normal for the 40's with 2.5" lifts and 33" tires?

cheers

Still a hole in the engine... but drive it every day. 1 gallon of water per day does the trick. There are a few bugs to work out, but today I decided to tackle to roll bar.

Everywhere I go I get particles in my eyes... could be from the rust flying off the cage.

- Stripped remaining tape off the cage.
- Pulled out the blaster and blasted in 7 minute increments.
- after the cage was clean, washed bare metal with some laquer thinner.
- Sprayed 2 coats of primer
- Sprayed 2 coats of gloss black (same color as the tiger top frame).
- Got 4 buddies coming over for dinner... will put it back on with their help.

I was amazed to find paint under the bar in both front and rear floors! this cruiser is pretty rust free.
