Added 2 40's to the fleet of rigs. One will be a runner and one will be a parts truck for it.

I'm pretty stoked.

Here are some pictures.

1972 FJ40 - No name yet. Thinking Brasko.

1972 FJ40
Saginaw power steering
Warn 8000 Winch
33" tires
Odd Front brake lever?
Tac's and guages extra
New battery
Webber carb

Bought it with another parts truck. They both did not run. Got home, filled the radiator with water/freeze... .and water came out the heater. Connected the hose back together. Checked oil, clean, checked brake fluid... back resovoir completly empty, front full.... filled back resovoir. Some brake but needs bleeding. After checking all fluids and topping off, poured a little gas in carb... started, gurgled, stopped. Opened gas tank... dry. Put 4 gallons in. Cranked over 4 times... and started. 1'st time in 2 years. Bunch of black crap came out the exhaust... then cleaned up. Killed, checked all fluids and look for leaks under the rig. None. Started and let run for 15 mintues. All guages work, except temp guage. All of the sudden I see the engine smoking.... ack! It was a hornets nest getting cooked... blew it away with my air nozzle. Drove it to the back yard and around the block.. Saginaw powersteering makes all the difference... drives like a dream... engine purrs.

Overall I am very happy with the rig. There is no rust through in the floors or the rear tailgate sill. Rare!

Going to pick up the parts rig tonight at around 10:30/11:00.

nice..plus a dual tank bonus seen in last photo

for the first time.. I get to play bezel police... flip that bezel :)

Ya ya ya... ok ya got me!

Holy crap... dual tanks!

Congrats!

Is that dash board crack free?

Congrats. That has bookoo potential. Just what you need, another project. I feel your pain.

Going to go pick up the donor rig now.. will be back at 12:30 am.

Doh!

Why is it that all the Cruisers you see someone just picked up or are for sale have the bezel upside-down?

Nice score, but after even the small amount of messing around with mine that I've done (mine wasn't too modified by PO) I'm second-guessing getting into project trucks like this. Looks good though, running with p/s can't complain about that.

Congrats!!!

Where on earth do you find all your cool rigs. This one, the FJ45LV and who know what else. PM me with your super sectret powers please.

Nice work

Dave

....Except for the choke knob that is cracked off!

Looks like a minor problem.... Good luck with both of them. Looks like you got a good one!

I think it is crack free... the donor is crack free too... I believe.

Thanks.

Warrior... the super secret powers wouldn't be secret if I told you. :) ... I'm compulsive.

ack .. its 1:15. My cruiser addiction has got the best of me this week.

That lever looks like a plow blade lift.
Old school non power angle aka- pull the pin, kick it 65 times- put pin back in. My 67 had one.

Nice score. Congrats.

Hey man, nice score, great body for the age of the rig. BTW, if you don't mind me asking, what was your price for both the rigs?
