Damn, look at all that rust. She looked so clean too!
This is exactly why i had the body work on the Walrus done first....to make sure i didn't have rust hiding, my skills are precisely at zero for welding, while J could throw down the cleanest bead in the world drunk, with his eyes closed, in the dark.
I would have thrown up and curled up into fetal position if i had to deal with this. J's a master.

Agreed. I'm only halfway decent at sheetmetal welding and don't yet possess the patience to fit parts together for good sheetmetal work. I wussed out and replaced my body instead of spending the time to repair the rust![]()
This is coming along nicely. Do you think Goss will be making it out to Oregon next month? We'd be able to play stereo 4bt music on the overnight run.![]()
You might consider a bunch of ceramic coating on engine stuff. I had a ton of it done to my over the top Nissan diesel and it is amazing at how cool it keeps things. I am sure the top mount oil cooler and duel I/C doesn't hurt either. I never have romped on the engine yet, just some driving around the property but revv'ing it up to 2500 and with varying loads. Turbo stayed so cool I could put my hand on it after a hard run around the property, never seen another diesel like that myself. Food for thought!
*Edit: my Garret T3 is also water and oil cooled so I am sure that helps.
BTW, awesome looking brake!
Holy shoot J…. What do you do as a trade in life,'cause your fab skillz seem first class all the way !!
AMAZING stuff you make my friend.
At work at the moment ( Calgary ) enjoying IH8MUD (after hours of course )![]()

I'll look into this for the down pipe maybe. Did you have thae coating done locally?
J
CWI, construction manager... What are you doing building bumpers?!? Lotsa high dollar work out there for a fellow like you. You taking a break?
Nah, it was done when the engine was built, in Australia! Long story.....
Cheers
J, just curious: when you consider your brake to be a 32/64 with a 32 ton jack, do you have a secondary mounting point, say, a rocker arm of sorts that doubles the jack output? Pretty sweet. You could potentially widen your customer base if you started making Roll Pans for Minitrucks. Nah, I don't want to share... stick to the TLC!
