Thought about it for a little bit. At this point it's more than capable enough off road even with the IFS.
I would really love more power though.
Not to digress too far, but I keep hearing about these dudes getting about 40 lb ft of torque with just header and intake filter swap. Turbo might be more your speed thenHad those on the last truck. Was disappointed there was no noticeable power or sound improvement. Though, the rest of the truck's breathing was still stock, so I imagine there would be some power to be had by opening up the intake and exhaust some more.
If Jason @TRAIL TAILOR gets his turbo kit to a point of marketing it...
He might be able to twist my arm. Also if anyone wants to swap a 5.7 into a 100... That might be cool, too.
But that's low priority. I've been waiting on this bumper so I could have the truck done, needing nothing, so I can finally get going on my W126. I've had a 20-ton shop press sitting in the box for a few weeks waiting to press bushings. BBS AMG wheels are slated to go to the west coast for rebuilding. H&R springs are in the trunk. I've got a lot of work ahead of me...

Installing a turbo on a 200,000 mile + engine is a recipe for an early engine swap-

Note my father, owner and lover of a well-built TJ, being completely unimpressed by my stock Lexus.

With the exception of some electrical accessories that I'll need to plan out, and the replacement of some parts with parts I'd rather have (like my ARB... Hey @ClassyJalopy , you still want it??), she's about as built as she's gonna be. Now I can just enjoy the truck, use her for what I built her for, and really spend time just making her 'nicer'.
Next up? Dual battery system, exterior accessory lighting, air horn, 12k winch, drawers v2, fridge, rifle storage, maybe a higher clearance front bumper, upgrade my TSX retrofit, new leather skins for the seats, begin replacing all interior bulbs... IDK. First $35K takes her home with them
This forum has been such a great resource for learning about these trucks. It's also been amazing in that it's put me in touch with some great friends, gotten me into areas I'd never have found, and put the truck through her paces more than I would have tried without knowing it could be done. I've been fortunate to get to build this 'one day' version of a 100 and I'm looking forward to paying it back to the community as I gain more of my own experience. Thanks MUD!!
If it isn't already on the list for mods: modify your insurance with a policy at a declared value!
There is no 100 on the market, with even half the mileage, that costs what yours does.
