I am wondering what the options are nowadays for a stout front bumper that holds a winch for our 70 series . So far I have used the all to popular ARB front bumper and a few oldskool aluminum TJM bumpers . Both are good options although the TJM is only available used and hard to find . For my next 2 personal 7x cruisers I want to find a winchbumper with good approach angles that is either available as a DIY kit or fully build model . It has to be steel as I will weld some attachments to it so I can flat tow it behind our RV.

Anyone want to share a pic or two of what they have and how they feel about said bumper ?

Thanks

Pic of a ARB I put on one of my hzj73's , still think these are one of the best looking models available but I want better approach angles and a bumper without added bars on top

I've reached out to Dissent to see if they would make one similar to their 60-series front bumper. I was told it would take a signed petition with enough signatures, otherwise it wasn't worth it...

Signed petition? I am surprised that they aren't requesting a threshold purchase commitment. Signing a petition without some level of commitment seems to easy. But if that is what they want and we "the 70 series community" would like more winch bumper options, so give it to them. How many signatures are needed?

Thanks

I am using an Ironman 4x4 front bumper that is quite durable and very much resembles the ARB bumper and will hold a winch.

Yes that is a option to but the same poor approach angles and the added bars I want to avoid . I had s few of them but prefer the arb over the ironman bumper for looks and finish .

The coastal offroad is more the style I am after

ARB and other manufacturers would be nice, but I am limited to what is available in the PI without excessive import duty fees and shipping.

You can custom fit the peaces to your front end as you tack weld them together. Then take it off to complete the welding grinding and painting. So easy a caveman can do it.

"Hi Nick,

It's certainly something we would entertain if there was enough interest.

We've got our hands full with the current workload so if someone wants to take lead and get a list of people that are actual buyers we could then form a plan for those products.

Thanks,

I've seen photos of a really nice front bumper that was made by Cruiser Outfitters. It was sleeker and more tucked up than the ARB, and had no hoops/bars on it. I wish I had saved the picture. Maybe they still make them?

Still offered. We shipped one today in fact. 😎 We’ve never added them to our website as they have continued to sell faster than we can get them made.

I've got a Coastal Offroad one on my 74 too and I'm happy with it. It does sit pretty close to the front valance but I think that's easy enough to deal with when you're assembling/welding (regarding winch fitment).

It looks likd the Coastal Offroad bumper has the best fit on the Prado models and the Cruiser Outfitters looks better on the HD models following the body lines . This is exactly what I was trying to see . Keep them coming guys

can you speak a bit on the front bumpers' approach angle? The main hesitation on these for me is that they look like they hang low compared to other options.

Pictures do the best speaking. I don't think it's low. There isn't much room to slide it back with most popular winches

There are likely some better side profile shots from users in the thread I linked above.

Fair enough, not trying to rip on it, just hard to tell from pictures for me.

Here’s one of the coastal off-road bumper from the side. From appearances, I wouldn’t think cruiser outfitters sits lower in any meaningful way, just down to styling preferences. If I did mine again I’d probably have it pushed out a little more to the front, it’s easy enough when it’s welded up.

I also didn’t know cruiser outfitter did one when I bought mine, not sure which I would’ve picked had I known.
