Hello all

We have a free set of skid plates to someone who will help with development. We need a 2007 Lexus LX470 for 2 days at Budbuilts shop in NC. We are only looking for a 2007 LEXUS, not Toyota so please don't ask. You have to be alright leaving your truck for 2 days so Bud can measure and create the skids. We do not want a 100 series, there are small differences in the trucks. Please PM me here or on our Facebook page www.facebook.com/adventuredriven

Thanks
Seth

Why does it need to be a 2007 LX470 and no other years?

07 is a 100 series, you're looking for an 08.

I'm so confused by everything in this post...

What are the differences in the frame between a LX and a LC? I thought they were the same, never seen mention of differences around here. If you were saying you need a newer 100 series because the mounts for the 5spd vs 4spd trans are different, then it would be making more sense to me...

Didn't realize budbuilt was doing 100 series products. If so that's great to hear, I had budbuilt skids on my old 4Runner and they were great.

What exact differences are there that would effect the skid plate design? I know the grille and headlights are different and that's why people make a different design of steel bumper for the LX vs. LC, but I don't see how that could make the skids any different. Maybe there's just something I don't know about...

Also, why would you post that you don't want a 100 series in the 100 series section??

I think some people are confused about the terminology lol... which is why I'm curious as to these 'differences' as well. Everyone says these are the same vehicle, and indeed they seem to be... so why the OP believes differently sure is curious. The only thing I can think of is AHC differences, but that wouldn't be frame relate other than lines that may be running through/along some part of the frame. Right? If the concerns are AHC related, then a newer LC with AHC should work too. There's two things I'm tripped up on, the year specification and the LX only specification. I must know why lol!

My guess:

OP is working with Budbuilt on a set of skids for a 2007 LX470 100 series vehicle and being new to the 100 series platform wants to be sure that the plates are modeled on an identical model and year vehicle. This because the distance between OP and Budbuilt is too great to have Bud measure OP's 470.

I was just ribbing him a little for not wanting a 100 series version of the 100 series LX470.

OP am I right or am I right?

So BUMP, lets get Bud some 100's to work on!

only time I wish I had an LX .... :slap:

ok guys, sorry for confusion, I guess a 100 will work after all, it would be nice to get a 07 so it can be as close to our LX as possible, I am sure other years will work but a 07 would make Bud happy, anyone live close to Budbuilt?

Seth

I don't pretend to know the details, but I believe Bud had some unexpected life events come up in the last few years. I got to meet his son at COTR last year and I'm optimistic we'll see 100 series products in the future.
