Dang. The U-pull no longer lists that '76 FJ-55.

Did anyone happen to pull the steering column out of it? Or have an FJ-55 steering column they'd be willing to part with? Before I go calling Merl in Salida for one....

Dan

:grinpimp::flipoff2: yep, i got it. i was planning on using it for the Project 16. i have the FJ60 column still w/o plastic parts too. i even have keys for the FJ60 one. i'll think about what i'll need for the project, unless you want the FJ60 one and it's done! you can have that one.

Glad at least it was saved.

Let me know what you think. I'll probably actually have to worry about getting one sometime next week or so.

I don't think the FJ-60 column will work for Dad's 40. I've thought about putting a 60 series column in my 45 someday though, but that day is quite some time off.

If anyone wants or needs these 15" factory toyota truck aluminum rims with caps(4) , they can be bought for 75 bucks. The guy works at one porperty I work for. He told me he posted them for 150 but would let me have them for half that. I told him I would ask, and now I did.

i just got a call from someone that is looking for runningboards/sliders for an 80 and a roof rack. I directed her here to this thread. just a heads up so you 80 guys can start thinking about it. looks like both the 80's in the 'junkyard hunting' thread have the running boards. maybe 1 good set between the 2?

I've got a factory 80 roof rack taking up space in my garage.

Believe it or not, Jon's looked about like that one when he got it 6 years ago.

better you than me. at least you've got the space & the skills. me... not so much.

$550 for that 40?

Man, if too many things like that show up on craigslist I'll end up with ANOTHER project.... Crazy.

Dan

:censor: Why the temptation? Just need another house with a bigger garage. Or I can find a way to put it in the living room and call it contemporary art :hhmm: I don't need a project, I don't need a project, oh the insanity!

I'm glad you posted that picture. It used to be at Comcast but you've switched web sites and I spent the last hour going back through the Yahoo archives looking for that picture. (I have no life. :frown:)

I'll bet $20 that guy's wife will make him take $150 for the Cruiser if you bring cash and a trailer to haul it off the same day.

Mike, I am sure that everyone here on Mud and HDC appreciates your info and help to any of us, so there is no reason to say you have no life! On the other hand, will that $20 dollar bet include a space in your garage?

If I brought that POS home there would more than an empty space in the garage. Me and all my junk would be on the street.

I didn't ask where you would be for taking home a POS, but I will spend the 170 bucks to see if you are right or gain 20. I have some room for your junk if needed :flipoff2:

Who Wants a Cheap Project?

I already have one Land Cruiser project, but that doesn't mean I don't look for another. FJ55 aren't really my type of cruiser, but for this price who cares. It is in Edgewood. And in one of the other pictures you can see another Cruiser. I have heard about a guy in Edgewood, who has around 12 cruisers this might be him. Someone might be able to flip it or part it out.

The FJ-55 will grow on you... careful....

I've got LOTS of rust repair on my 45, so it'll be a while before I'm interested in something like that, but someday.....

FJ-55 with 1HD-T (or 1HZ for that matter)= approximately the coolest wagon ever. Well, unless it was a 45LV with the same.... ;)
