If only you would have been around when I got rid of mine. I still cry myself to sleep at night knowing that she would get crushed. She had great potential to be restored, but I didn't have the room and supportive neighbors.

So what's M&F? Are they reputable?
That's where Pierrette's 100 came from. They seem like a better than average used car lot. Their inventory generally is no more than 5 year old vehicles, lots of luxury brands as well. I've seen some exotic stuff on the lot too like an Acura NSX, Honda S2000, maybe even a Lotus once.

Where did you get it? Standard or auto? How many miles, etc...
It's an auto, got it off Craig's List. 187k but the price was good and I'll go through it (actually probably Ryan will go through it) before I take it out to CA. Basically a one owner - the dad bought it three years old and gave it to his son last year. Good body except for some clear coat chipping on the horizontal surfaces. Almost looks like sand abrasion but I've never seen in just on hztl surfaces - usually it's on the upwind side. Appears to be something with the sun but I've never seen it like this. They took it to American on the 3rd and American gave it the $100 look over - I have a list of things they say it needs - Timing Belt, Drive Belts, Leaking xmission pan gasket, "original plug wires", front brakes, air filter, slight leak from heater hose, etc.
They also say "plugs fouled" - although it gets better mpg than our '99 - well over 20 on the highway at 75 mph. I'm not sure it that's just from the "original plug wires" or the plugs need replacing or what.

For Sale - 1994 80 series drivetrain
I met Ross Miller at Cruise Moab this year. Some of you may have met his dad - Bruce Miller. Bruce is an active trail leader at Cruise Moab. I have run Hells Revenge with Bruce Miller a couple of times.
Anyway, Ross is in the process of swapping in a 24-valve turbo diesel (1HDFT) with a manual 5-speed in his 1994 80 series, so he's got a petrol drivetrain for sale. I told him I would post the info here in case anyone is interested. He said the best way to reach him is to send him a PM - his Mud name is "Workhorse". Ross has worked as a Toyota technician and is a self-described maintenance fanatic. Ross lives in Longmont, Colorado, which I think is in the Denver area, so he's not too far from us here in NM.

Here's the info from Ross on his equpment:
1994 1FZ-FE and A442F transmission mated to an HF2A transfer case -120K miles
The motor was given oil changes between 2500-3000 miles religiously. The tranny was given fluid exchanges(not drain and refill) at least once a year. The spark plugs were changed out every 15-25K miles. Air filter changed every 10-15K miles. This motor and tranny do NOT leak or burn or drip or anything. They are in fine condition and would be able to drop into a truck that needs a motor or tranny or both. To my knowledge the head gasket has not been done, but I have never felt that doing a HG on a 1FZ-FE was as scare tactic necessary as many others believe. However, I have never ever had any troubles with this motor or the truck it came out of. I am the second owner of this truck. I bought it from an older couple who bought it brand new from the Toyota dealership in Santa Fe in Spring of 1995. They took it to the dealership for EVERYTHING. I bought the truck when it had 60,320 miles on it. I want to get rid of the entire lot of parts as I have recently converted my truck over to a 1HDFT with a manual 5 speed H150F transmission. Price is $2000USD FIRM for everything. I prefer to sell the entire lot.

This one sold recently. I saw it being drug home by a red Tacoma with a camper shell headed north on Tramway at Montgomery.

$6,800 is cheap (I paid twice that). And it's pre-scarred. Mileage and 'oil leaks' worry me a little.
The hardtop on that thing is super-cool.
