I hate to point out the obvious...but I will :) Isn't ats4x4 the one posting pics of rigs on an RTI ramp aka poser ramp?

I also thought you had to have a silver star before you could try to talk trash?

Talk trash, or answer questions, I guess is debatable, but if you want technical answers to a technical question, like someone said in another thread 'Surely someone lurks here who works for aftermarket" then, you get answers, or, we say nothing, which would you prefer?

[poser shot was as John requested, from a competition where the ramp was part of that, with sponsor logo's in place, to replicate a photo.]

What become the next limiting factor?

The top ball joint, which doesnt really limit anything, other than it normally snaps off, letting the wheel become detatched from the vehicle as it tips over, and breaks the bottom A arm.

Thats why its bad to have not enough down travel, because the shocker tops out all the time, and you cant fit much longer than standard front shocks. [aprox 10mm longer = 20mm @ the wheel max]

Guys, ats4x4dotcom has forgotten more about wheeling wagons than anyone who posts in this section. I would consider him the Mark Whatley of wagons.

If he has come across as arrogant in the thread, it is because he knows his stuff.

I highly respect his opinions and think everyone should take a deep breath and step away from the keyboard on this one.

No problem here. I just want to know how I can consider purchasing ats's recommendations for my LC. It certainly is benefitial to understand the underlying principles of design, etc. But the bottom line is I, like others here I suspect, want to actually put the goods to use. And so far trying to directly purchase anything from any company 'downunder' has been a huge hassle.

Are the shocks that ats has informed us about (still don't have brand & part numbers, etc.) available in the U.S.?

Nobody is the "expert" on every issue. His blatent inaccurate statements discreditiing the performance gains of my N74L fitment alone shows this. It's not personal, however to discredit this field-tested improvement in a forum where others are looking for improvement too is irresponsible.

I agree 100%, and I think I said as much on another thread (or was it this one... they blur together sometimes...).

Darren's been doing this longer than any of us.

Well, how about this idea: One purpose of the tech forums is to learn and how to better our Cruisers. I have posted a link on my experiment with the N74L on the 100. While I might have been the first one in the US to do this, who knows what's going on in other countries?

If ATS has a better solution that they've done in Aus, then I'd hope he'd start a thread (as I did) and post details and include pictures. If he's here to help the GROUP then I'd recommend he do that rather than bashing my successful experiment.

One bumper, or one shock-type, or one lift-height isn't the best for every owner. ATS discredits himself by cutting down what I've accomplished. My suggestion is for him to "spread his knowledge" on his own thread. Simple enough. And that may help others.

I wasnt bashing your thread john, just your lack of knowledge, which was misleading, these threads are EXACTLY for people to learn from, and the information needs to be factual, accurate, and clear.

Asking you questions to clear up what you were attempting to say, is exactly what your last sentence is about, ask the right question, get the right answer, act like you think you know, and it has the chance of ending in tears, hence why you posted what you have above.

Thanks,
text probably isnt my best form of communication, but as anyone who knows me knows, always willing to pitch in, or help out where I can.

Also call a spade a spade

Agreed. I don't run a 4-wheel shop like you. I'm just a schmoe that found a sport I like and have pursued it.

Yes, I certainly have a lack of knowledge in these areas. I am glad though I was smart enough to come up with some original thoughts (here in the USA at least :D ) regarding improvements to the 100-series. If I were only a little smarter, just imagine how much better my 100 could be. :D

And...if I were smarter yet....I'd keep these improvments to myself so as to avoid trash from skeptics or those who have more smarts. ;)

Yes, I can see how you struggle with trying to be smart, while trying to fill us all in for your benefit, rather than ours, so I can understand what youer saying there.

Im sure you can manage it better though John, to save it becoming an issue for you again in the future, because when your intentions are right, it goes so much better for everyone.

Group hug anyone?

I'll try harder from here on out my friend.

That's it.

Tad....whatcha think. Do you think the N74L offers much off-road benefit like I've said in my thread? :D

Don't make me bust out the horse smiley in here!!! :D Which magazine was picking that up anyway. I get trails and 4wdto (mouthfull); no see 'um though.

I'm not saying a damn word on this N74LY2KDELUXESUPERSIZE stuff. I don't even understand what's on my own rig that well. I'm an idiot that just likes to press buttons. :flipoff2:

I KNEW YOU WERE TOO SMART TO FALL FOR THAT!

My UZJ100 should be featured in the June issue of OFF ROAD Magazine. I hope they mention the N74L modification in EVERY paragraph. :D

Imagine the hate mail in the July LETTERS section? :D

Yes. You're right. I'm prepared emotionally. I know you'd write one nasty letter for sure, BUT now that you bought a 100....I think you'll be quiet. :D
