Anyone else notice a big hit to your fuel economy going from the BFG KO2 to the KO3? I'm not real thrilled with my milage since getting new tires. So I'm wondering if it's just our truck or if others have had the same problem.

I did not and I am on 315/75/16, if anything I noticed a slight increase as the tires are slightly lighter. Is everything else constant? Tire pressure, weather, etc?

I'm running 275/70/18. Everything is consistent. Same tire size. Same wheels. No new mods or extra weight. I did get an alignment with the new tires but I was expecting that to help not hurt milage. I also thought because the KO3s are lighter than the KO2 they would be better for milage. I'm getting easily 2 mpg worse than before. My gas light comes on now at about 215 miles.

I have the same wheels and tire size on my Tundra still with the KO2. I think I'm gonna swap them and see if I go back to the milage I was getting before.

I bought my first set of ko3’s 285 75 16 in December and have driven 4K + miles from Long Island to tuscon. I had falken wild peak ats on the tundra 20” wheel and the fuel mileage avgs around 13-14 mpg for me at around 70-75mph with both sizes. Probably would be better mileage at 65 but she feels good at 70.

I'm seeing 60.4lbs for the KO3 and 57.7 for the KO2.

For the same load range?

315/75/16 KO3 E Load is ~1LB lighter than the KO2 based on Discount Tire’s website. I also see the same for 285/75/16.

My understanding is the KO3 is supposed to be stronger and lighter using less materials.
